Or as cko put it: "Charles in Charge is Our Role Model. Our Hope, Our Beacon of Optimism." I never in my life thought I would include a show featuring Scott Baio with the words hope and optimism in the same sentance. But this has changed that all. Let Charles be hope that Reaper can be risen.

Okay, well when we move onto more long-term goals, I want to see if we can't organize it here: savereaper.wikia.com/wiki/Save_Reaper_WikiIf it doesn't work, it doesn't work (like I said, I have an idea on how to organize things, but I'm not that great at coding the place so I'll need to work on it). The reason I kinda like the wiki is because that way we can probably get on the Reaper Wikipedia (which is where most people will be going when trying to find Reaper information), and I can *definitely* put it up at the Reaper Wiki - which *is* already listed at Wikipedia. I think it's kinda a good idea to have an off-site place, and one with a specific google-able link. I did something similar to this when we did the Save the Junkie, Save the World campaign, but I think this will end up being a bit more detailed than that (and probably without the "send something in" theme). www.freewebs.com/savethejunkiesavetheworldETA: And BTW, if you haven't seen Reapersite's posting, check it out: Or as cko put it: "Charles in Charge is Our Role Model. Our Hope, Our Beacon of Optimism." I'd put similar link to tv.com. I think a lot of people visit that one as well.

Aktarian, we're going to create a section for international fans on this thing, so can you get the address to contact, and maybe also where you think the biggest fansite might be? I'm not really sure what you mean by this. What addresses? If you mean TV stations that carry them outside US that would be pointless. Foreign TV stations are not going to petition US stations to renew Reaper so they could buy it at some later time, specially as things are still not clear who exactly should they contact. But for fans Germany would be best bet. Biggest market by itself and German stations are watched in other countries by people with German as their second or third language. I'll see what I can dig up, maybe if we get more foreigners writing in, telling people Reaper has solid fanbase elsewhere as well this could help. yup deffinetly! i'm from SLOVENIA (it's in Europe) a small country so yea reaper IS pretty popular outside the world not just in US and UK xD

Ok, well not for nothing, Nick made an interesting comment about My Name is Earl today:
The thing about this is I know from Cast & Crew they’ve been let go. So it’s just like REAPER. If they renew the show they have to go back and get cast & crew to do new contracts. That isn’t easy. In the case of REAPER it’s what stalled the show, one (possibly two) told Mark Gordon Productions they weren’t interested unless they could be assured the quality was there in the writing.
So...the question is, how does this help us, and what can we do?

Tuesday 6/9/2009: I talked to Yani Chang today. I actually got quite a shock when she personally answered her own phone! Anyways, bearing in mind that she *is* trained to say certain things, this is what she said to me: - Reaper is not done. There are still people trying to figure out what to do in regards to the show.
- They still want to produce the show.
- Reaper is a unique situation, since as Ms. Chang points out, most SOS Campaigns are directed to the network (in our case the CW), but that's not the case here
- She agreed that yes, there was still interest in the show.
- They are fully aware of the fan support for the show. (It was actually pretty funny - I asked her how we as a fandom can best show our support of Reaper and she responded, "I think you've already done that.")
- Yes, Tara and Michele remain as show consultants, even though they have left to go to FOX.
- They received our emails about the CW affiliates, and she said she had forwarded them on.
It was a little hard to speak with her with because I know she couldn't give out direct information, and I just couldn't phrase my questions right. I tried to ask what we as a fandom could do best to help Reaper out, especially since we know that while the cast and crew have been let go, none have yet gotten a new job to replace things - excluding Tyler. She really couldn't answer me, because A) there's no real direct place to contact; and more likely B) she's not allowed to tell us who'd we'd need to go to. I'm sorry this is kinda short, I have to go to work so I can't really write up everything we talked about (like I said, I *really* wasn't expecting to actually speak to anyone, let alone Ms. Chang), so I will just say in a nutshell (and I'll get more into it later): 1. We need to keep the interest in Reaper going. So we're on-target with our Immediate Plan. 2. Having said that, I got the impression that it's also important to keep up a Reaper interested in terms of purchasing. Which means - back to our roots, emailing the CW affiliates, the cable places, etc. Just so that if ABC *does* get things in order, they will have no problem find a place to buy the program. 3. It might also be important to keep up with the other components of Reaper, ie the cast, Mark Gordon Productions, etc. etc. I also told her that if ABC needed ANYTHING - and I mean ANYTHING - to please let me and the fandom know, and we will do it. Again, I'll try and expand on this later (ck or somebody, maybe you can round up the email addresses for cable/affiliates again so people can get started ASAP if they want?), but I think #1 and #2 are going to be our best bets right now. No matter what, it's imperative to keep up interest in Reaper - and TO LET PEOPLE KNOW. So spread the word.

Per blue's phone conversation, above, with the now-infamous Yani Chang, here is the contact information for people to let the affiliates and cable know that there is a strong viewing audience for Reaper! EVERYONE - WHETHER YOU HAVE WRITTEN BEFORE OR NOT!!!!! Be sure to include your (and anyone else in your household that watches) age, M/F, address, and cable provider if applicable. * Contact ABC Studios and politely encourage them to continue efforts to keep Reaper! To contact ABC: abc.go.com/site/contactus.html?lid=ABCCOMGlobalFooter&lpos=CONTACT* Contact SPIKE and SCI-FI and encourage them to purchase Reaper! spiketv@spiketv.com, feedback@scifi.com * Contact your CW affiliate and encourage them to keep Reaper on the air! I included household income. This may be "extra" for most people, but I include: --What I know about the popularity of the show, the fandom. --Fan groups at facebook, myspace, Twitter --Petition at seriesfinale (http://tvseriesfinale.com/articles/reaper-petition/) has almost 3,500 signatures. From wd, about reruns, since the Spike/SciFi deals would be for reruns: --Reaper's rerun audience was usually much better that the other shows on CW last year (50% to 70% audience retention from original broadcast). That contrasts with, for example, Smallville's rating of 1.4 million vs their first run average of about 3.4 million (or only about 40% of original audience).

Jenny doesn't think the show is necessarily dead yet, but its inches away from being gone for good. And Blue! You got a shout out from her! Congratulations. As did the entire site and cko(in the comment section)...this is really reaching people. I'm amazed. www.youtube.com/user/msjennyw

Okay, I've calmed down a bit. Yeah, Blue, you've done an awesome job galvanizing people to action and beating down the doors of ABC and CW affiliates. As someone said above, if the show is saved it's thanks to you. You should be in the credits of a potential season 3! I would poke fun at you for being sci-fi nerd, but right now I love ya too much. ;D

Two things I would like to add at this point:
1. In your emails, mention that you know Reaper was taken off the market, but if it *is* offered again, you hope they consider purchasing it. And if, by ANY chance you get a "Yes, we'd still be interested in the show" response back, we definitely want to forward that to Ms. Chang.
2. To be fair, we can't keep a constant writing campaign forever. If this has to go on, I recommend organizing "fan days" like say, every Tuesday we all write in again - just to keep the momentum going, but also not to completely overwhelm people.
This is still a longshot, unfortunately. But still, it *is* a shot. If we are serious about the future of Reaper, we *will* need to figure out some way to maintain the fandom without it petering off due to the erosion that naturally happens as time goes by.
ETA: And buy the DVDs if you haven't already.

www.tvguide.com/News/MegaBuzz-House-SVU-1006743.aspx I am super upset that Reaper was canceled. The finale was great but totally left us hanging. What's the "greater good"? Is there any chance we can get some answers or a continuing story in maybe a comic book? If not, any word on where the writers were planning on going in Season 3? — GeraldTIM: Reaper star Bret Harrison tells us he saw hints in the finale that Andi (played by Missy Peregrym) "was going to probably be a reaper in the next season." The story will survive as a comic book, but don't put your faith in talk of the show surviving in syndication: "[That] is a no-go," says Tyler Labine, aka Sock. "It's not officially, officially dead, but as far as everyone is concerned, it's over." As for whether Bret and Tyler would be interested in a Reaper movie, look for our full-length interview soon. I found that article at tvguide.com . A comic book? Not exactly what we had in mine. Tyler doesn't think there's any hope, but I still want a season 3! I'm interested to hear what the rest of that interview says.

maybe thy just put reaper in the freezer for the next season(2009-2010) and take it out again for season 2010-2011 so that thy have time to make some deals.
or maybe something bigger is going to happen but thy wont tell about it.
or its just end of story

Got this in my facebook inbox from the Reaper group today:
"Just got official word that there is absolutely no chance of Reaper going another year. It has been dropped by all involved. Boooo. But on a brighter note, There is a comic book coming out and there is some serious talk of it being turned into a cartoon. That could be sweeeeet. I would definitely be into doing a voice on that show. So, I guess thats it. I am officially going to be turning this into a Tyler Labine fan page and would be flattered if you all would stay on board with me. I've become quite fond of chatting with all of you. Nice to know you're out there. If not, that's cool too. Thanks for all of your support guys. For real, you've been awesome fans. None better out there. Talk soon. TY."

In the words of that massive tool Nolan (who kept on dying in my fire emblem party b/c he was way underpowered, so I saw this message a lot) "We must continue to fight for what we believe is right, soldier on..."
This has always been about staring reality in the face and saying no, so I see no reason why we should stop now. In my mind ever since Nick C's "Reaper is Dead" post this has been more about ensuring Reaper will come back someday, not necessarily this rotation.

Well said, deathrabbit, or rather Nolan whoever he is. We have many examples of shows that were resurrected, either in the same or different form, so I don't see this restating of the same basic news to be any more than just one more twist in the road. What we have on our side: 1) Momentum 2) An awesome fan group who wants to continue our efforts and keep talking about the show. 3) A lot of loose ends in the storyline(s) that we want to see addressed somehow! I'm still in, definitely.
