Okay, so RDJ looks amazing (ditto Jude Law) and the look is fantastic, but I don't quite get it. Does Sherlock Holmes have supernatural or super powers now?
I'll see it regardless. Wahoo!

No, he's just a fist fighting badass like he always was. Apparently in the original books he was known as a boxer and martial arts expert but it was never emphasised, so for a modern audience they decided to bring that stuff out and make him an action hero.

I'm not sure how I feel about that-- I mean, even with it being original I sort of like it better when he's just, you know, planned ahead and informed the police. It somehow seems... More clever.

Hah, I'm still going to see it, of course. And OH that reminds me: Johnny Depp as John Dillinger? By Michael Mann? Yes that will be good to look at.

Was this the one they shot in Chicago? That was an awesome summer. They were filming around where I was living, and I still remember walking down Fullerton and doing a double-take at the old-timey cars they had parked along the street for an on-location shoot.

By accident, my sister and I caught Hancock on TV. Wow, that was amazingly good. The acting: Will Smith, not trying to be likeable; Jason Bateman in a perfect-fit role; Charlize Theron, whoa. It had its overly-loud and crashy moments, but also some deep-ish ideas and relationship stuff. Totally different than I expected. Peter Berg directed, so that explains somewhat.
I can see why it didn't do well, but I'd recommend it.

Alex! You just reminded me, I totally forgot to watch that movie. Your pic seems to pull together the best of it. I haven't even seen a movie in ages. I can barely keep up with TV. But, I do want to see Inception, which looks intriguing, is directed by Christopher Nolan, has an amazing cast, including Leonardo di Caprio, Ken Watanabe, and Joseph Gordon-Leavitt, and seems to be science-fiction.

This isn't really about a movie to see, but thought Blue and others might enjoy this recent pic of two guys hanging out together, from this LOTR Tumblr blog:

1) He probably doesn't have much, so what he does have has to stand up to make it look fuller. 2) You're crazy, he looks fantastic!
