Blue, I wish you would consider Facebook. There's a Facebook group for Oregon Zoo Guides!

For some reason this cracked me up. Maybe because Stinger mentioned Parcheesi in a recent discussion of drinking games. There are more, but not as funny. I like the Myst one, though. If anyone here has ever heard of Myst, that is.

'Tis but one of the dim memories of my youth! And while we're talking board games, I have to advertise my favorite people: www.cheapass.com/, Cheap Ass Games, people who sell only the essentials (no dice, no pieces, assuming you can get them from any of the games you already have) to some awesomely creative games. My favorite will always be "Kill Dr. Lucky", although "Devil Bunny Hates the Earth" is pretty sweet too.

Pending, great link. I'm going to find someplace that sells these, even though that site's search function is horribly confusing to me. We love games in my family; perfect for the holidays!

However you celebrate it, or even if you don't, it's about giving thanks and eating good food, so thanks to you all for being here and loving Reaper. Our local columnist does a yearly thing on Thanksgiving; it is one of my favorites. If he updates it tomorrow, I'll relink, unless we're running around like crazy basting turkeys and burning the pies.

This is cool to me. Omaha high-schoolers run off the Westboro Baptist Church, aka Fred Phelps's people.

Okay, I have something for you! My favorite webcomic, Penny Arcade, takes a break from the video game/penis jokes once a year, when they have a fundraising drive for their charity 'Childs Play'. The charity raises money for video games and entertainment for kids who are stuck in hospitals, and it's become hugely popular. One of the items they put up for auction is a webstrip, and the person who wins it gets to pick what it's about, so this is actually one of their rare, autobiographical strips, and I really love it:

Ohh! Love the polaroids of Murray. "He had pride, but he did not boast." Sigh.

It had kind of reminded me of your cat-- I love how much character Murray has just in the comic strip. "His favorite play was the Pirates of Penzance".

...because a recent encounter on one of the dating sites tells me I might need this calculation handy. Let's see, forty-xxx divided by two is twenty-yyy plus z equals thirt.....oh. Okay, forget it. It was fun to consider, anyway. Oops, I forgot to credit: xkcd, obviously.

Hah! That's like something Barney Stinson would do, but he'd have a cool name for it too, like the Standard Lowering Probability Factor.
And I was 26 when I got married so there's some actual statistics in there. It also all makes sense in a weird way.

Aww, no, wish it was. Just makes me think of Blue and Quill, who I was feeling nostalgic for, but now they're back, so...
Hope everyone's weathering their weather ok. It's been lovely here, cold, but clear. Makes it a bit easier to pursue The Dating, currently involving looking up previous...friends, and considering the Greater Bay Area in my scope now. Next up, lawyer friend who lives 50 miles away. Tons of baggage, but at this age, who doesn't? Unless I want to go way younger, which witness the cartoon above, I've already ruled out...I think.

After pouring rain most of the day the sun has come out. Really, it's actually very sunny, as opposed to the typical gray we see here all winter. About 44 degrees, not bad for late December. Thanks for the Dating update, we're all watching closely (but not too close. Seriously, you don't have to pull the drapes or anything. And what you do behind closed doors is your business anyway, and... oh, nevermind).

And what you do behind closed doors is your business anyway, and... oh, nevermind). Ha! I have nothing to hide from any of you. Yet. (Um, except some of the photos I've seen recently; it's amazing what people will to send to total strangers.) Which, by the way, my regularly-scheduled announcement: against all custom, this is looking like a good time for dating and romance, so get on it, everyone, if you aren't already. And if you are already, then...stay on it.

I'm baaaaaaack. *cough* Okay, enough of that... After pouring rain most of the day the sun has come out. Really, it's actually very sunny, as opposed to the typical gray we see here all winter. About 44 degrees, not bad for late December. How weird would it sound if I said I'm jealous of your gray weather? It's always insanely sunny here, 99% of the time, at least. I was estatic on final exam day because not only was the sky overcast, but it rained for a couple hours! I walked around in it for a while between classes, sans umbrella. (I have one, but since it never rains, I never know where it is, heh.)

Ewww!... Okay, I'm sorry. But when we're talking about dating, all is fair for gutter-minded interpretations. Well, that is what I meant. In more lofty realms--or actually, not--lot of birthdays in December of people I perhaps paradoxically admire. You may have seen at LJ, but I'm big on the late comedian and social commentarian Bill Hicks. This is a famous bit of his that starts out about drugs but ends up pretty philosophical. And, Keith Richards. I have this pic up in my office and look at it every day. Plus icon (and sentiment) by JT, aka the Ex.

I haven't been around in forever, I know. I did finally update ReaperSite though (go me!) and then I know I have more I need to put up (thanks to cKo for keeping me updated) This is one of the things that has been keeping me busy: Her name, as the Halloween costume might imply... is Darth Vader. Right now, though, I'm visiting my mom in Florida. Good times.

Nice to see you too. I'm sure I'll be around more, especially once the show starts again. Plus I know the Season 1 DVD is among my Christmas gifts I have yet to open so that'll put me in the mood as well.
