I love those kinds of jokes. That's right up there with this one (my personal favourite): Q: How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb? A: Fish. Get that one, Stinger?

Survey question. I honestly don't know how to answer this.

Survey question. I honestly don't know how to answer this. Andi: I thought I heard another voice. Sam: Uh, that was me. <holds vegetable in air> I like to give them voices. ARRGH. Zucchini. I apologize to chairs when I hit them. Does that count?

Does my computer count? That might rule out many of us.

OK, I"m answering "yes." Because I'd have no problem dating either pace or Blue. Or Sam. Though, now I think of it, isn't it more disturbing to have two-way conversations with inanimate objects?
Sigh. That may not be a rule-out for me, either.

The first time I saw that I misread it and thought that I was the person being offensive and getting de-friended and felt awful; I tend to go a little over-board on LJ, because I forget it's a real thing and people actually read it. I'm glad that it's not me, but I'll employ those LJ cuts a little more in the future... Even the friends who agree with me don't deserve to get slapped in the face with a long political op-ed just because they're checking in. France-loving dog though, that has universal appeal. Rejoice though! I'm putting myself on mandatory political news detox. Not dropping by here for days is just the tip of the iceberg; I've been sinking into that dark, dark place where I skip showers to free up reading time. That shouldn't start before grad school.

The first time I saw that I misread it and thought that I was the person being offensive and getting de-friended and felt awful; Oh noes! Now I feel awful. I'm glad you went back and read again. It wasn't you, I swear. I dumped that other bleeding heart commie pinko ;D. Just joshing, your posts are fine. I just read them with one eye closed. No, I'm serious, don't feel like you have to change a thing. Cuts are fine for long posts of any content, but you never need to cut for content alone. I'm a big girl, I can take it and many of your entries are loads of fun. Oh totally. Three cheers for the red, white and blue (dog). Hee. Well if you feel it would benefit your sanity. But only if you must. There's still miles of muck between here and November. Pace yourself, that's an order.

As much as I've been enjoying it, I was getting a little worried. Just look away, like I am.
Anyway, we missed you around here. It's so much better for your sanity to play ABCs of Reaper and search like mad for the Shirtless Bret pic.

MUCH better. I'm one of those people for whom the 24-hour news cycle is killer. My folks are watching the news and I hear "The McCain campaign is demanding an apology for comments that they say are..." and I'm like a rage-aholic all over again. I'm mainly just catching up! You guys are chatty.

Well we haven't been pulled into a black hole, yet. But a very cool artist, Nagi Noda, died at 35. Check out the comments on this site, especially the napkin one.

NPR ran a very sad radio doc about how we (the US) nearly built our own world-destroying particle smashy thing-a-ma-jig. I feel bad how relieved I feel that we didn't, because I don't want that kind of pressure right now.

I have an excuse. I'm married. Good luck with it though, hope you have a great time. I thought about exempting you and ksm (and whoever else is in a relationship, I don't know) but decided you could go on a date with who you're with. So enjoy! And thanks for the good wishes.

I have kids. ;D But we do still try and get out sometime on our one either to the theatre or a movie. I'll dedicate my next date night to you.

On bluesunflower's suggestion, I'm going to post a link to a webcomic I mentioned in chat. It's very much a grad-student comic, and is pretty slice-of-life... however, the author is a lit person and has an interest in the folkloric devil especially. This has been worked into the comic here and there, especially in that one character is sure that another is the devil. She is certifiable, but the longer the comic goes on, the less sure you are that she's wrong. It's pretty good, once it gets going. Here is a devil-y themed comic: westofbathurst.comicgenesis.com/d/20071103.htmland the first one: westofbathurst.comicgenesis.com/d/20060823.html
