lostinflight, good luck with it! It's natural to be a little nervous. Maybe Blue or others have more suggestions re: the test, but my only advice is read the questions carefully. Also, thanks for the music recs!

Good luck lostinflight. I don't know what the tests are like in Canada but here in the States I thought they were pretty easy. I probably overstudied thinking it would be a lot harder than it was and was surprised. A lot of it is stuff you know intuitively anyway.
reapersite, sorry about your DHL problems. Funnily enough, I've always considered DHL and FedEx to be the more reliable of the shippers compared to UPS which truly is of the devil. A UPS depot would be my portal to hell. Every box I get looks like its been stomped on, they often leave packages around the side of my house where I can't see them even though I've told them not to, and one time I had an internet purchase and asked UPS to deliver it one day later than scheduled because I was out of town and they put it through as refused and returned it to the shipper. When I called angry and asked them to intercept it and send it back to me they said they would, but they never did. I had to make the purchase all over again and sort it out with the company I bought the item from. UPS = Satan.

Wow, pace...I thought you were in Canada. Weird. Though I was confused when you mentioned trying to send a Reaper text to the scoreboard at the baseball game. Yes, everyone, I know they have baseball in Canada. But this was two US teams, I forget who.
So, live and learn. Me, I mean.

It's just done to confuse you and give myself an air of mystique. I've always wanted an air of mystique. But I guess I've blown it now huh? Crap.

Today is Joe Strummer's Birthday. Funny thing, he died on my birthday. That day is commemorated here. I'd love to see that mural sometime: Niagara Bar, 7th & Ave A, NY. Like in the video, I remember seeing people wearing Clash t-shirts. We went to a Clash-themed place for breakfast ( yes) and they were playing, I think, London Calling, and a man in the next booth said to his son, who looked around 9--"That guy singing, he's Joe Strummer. He died today." You felt like you were part of a (big) club. Still do. He's one of my (few) heroes. From a tribute site: "When he played at the Troubador, before he walked off the stage he said 'It's a sad and beautiful world! Goodnight!' If you don't know, find out more about him. (from LJ, but I didn't want people to have to click over. Icon by JT.)

I passed my G1 test on the first try. Yay!!! Thank you reapersite , cko, pace , and Blue for wishing me luck and assured me it was normal to be scared, it helped me calm down. You guys awesome. Also, thanks a bunch for the links to those practice tests, Blue , they really helped me out. The test was only offered on paper, so I didn't have to worry about doing it on the computer. I only got a few road rules questions wrong, but the rest of the test was easy - ish. I don't think the rules were that much different from the ones in the States judging by the practice tests, except for the km/miles thing. I just read up on him, he sounded like a really good guy and awesome musician. I think I'm going to go look up his music. No problem, cko. Hopefully you'll find something you like in there. By the way, do you know if the interview you did is on the website of the station? I'm really interested in hearing it. One of these days I'm going to post a post that doesn't need to be edited.

Congrats! So nice to have it behind you, yeah?
And Joe, whereever you are, I hope you have a happy birthday. RIP dude. The Clash ruled. I recommend them too, especially their first album and London Calling. He left us too soon.

1) LostInFlight passed her test! Hooray! Now get out there and practice on the road! 2) I live in California so don't have to worry about LostInFlight on the road. 3) LostInFlight is going to check out the Clash! Look for I Fought the Law, London Calling, Guns of Brixton, might be your taste. 4) Suddenly some guy, student maybe, has taken to playing acoustic guitar on the patio under my office window. So, for a couple hours a day, the notes drift up between the traffic, sirens, and crazy street people yelling. 5) A sidewalk artist stenciled on all the blocks around here the following message: Breathe--You're Alive. Glad I was walking with my head down. Thanks for asking about the radio thing. She's supposed to email me; I think it'll air this weekend. I don't know about the web. I'll let you know. And, coincidence, on the radio I just heard sixx am and that Linkin Park song!

Tick tick tick. 11 days and I still have not been warned/banned at TWoP for posting that Rick Gonzalez MLB video that linked back to here. (Recruiting!)
So, pay up. Make the site ad-free for one month. Click on the link under Shirtless Bret's ... umm ... under Bret. Follow the instructions and let Blue know, so she can trigger the credits.
And, DRAWING! Code words Red Bull and Ms. Frizzle. = $20
I'm waiting....

Thanks for the congrats guys. It is nice to have it behind me, as for actually driving, I think I'm going to stick to the parking lot for a bit. 2) I live in California so don't have to worry about LostInFlight on the road. HaHa! cko, . The Clash is awesome, and it turns out I already heard some of their songs, like Should I Stay or Should I go Now?, which I didn't know was sung by them. The song I Fought the Law is my favorite at the moment. Does he sound any good? Thanks The post written by 1 was accidently written by me because I posted when I wasn't logged in when I thought I was and didn't understand what the computer was asking me to do. Opps *Which has now been deleted so no harm done -- pacejunkie.

Got my VISA ya'll! Let England just try and keep me out!
Congrats to you, LostinFlight. I remember the joy of learning to drive, and the exam. When I was done, I was so depressed because I was sure I'd flubbed it, and I can still remember how thrilled I was when the person ripped off the exam sheet and told me to go get my license. Go 1st timers!

Aw damn. Almost snatched a guy for the board today. He's a Reaper fan, but he's not an online Reaper fan. He does recruit viewers, though. ;D

Blue, you're having a garage sale! My neighborhood had our big block-wide sale last weekend! I made out like a bandit! And like bandit, I mean "80 dollars". But it felt pretty good. Hope it's gone well for you.

Yeah, my family pretty much spends all our yard sale revenue on:
a) Coffee from the shop down on the corner b) Lunch c) Crap from other people's yard sales across the street. d) Buying things from each other. I was taking my weights set out, and my mom bought it off me for $2, and I carried it right back inside.

Did she actually give you the $2? Pace (and others so inclined), someone's comment somewhere ( sorry) about Neil Patrick Harris reminds me: are you following the Dr Horrible fandom stuff? It's amazing! The icons are beautiful (good source material), someone crochets characters, another is doing My Little Pony versions, and someone blended a Billy tea ! LJ comm dr_horriblesing is a good source of the crazy creativity.

The ponies are amazing! Yeah, I belong to a couple of Dr. Horrible comms but I admit I don't always look at everything. It can be overwhelming. My flist is starting to eat me alive.

Tell me about it. I signed up for some writing comm (femslash100 I think) and it's blowing my mind the pairings people write. Lots and lots of anime (and I think video game) pairings. I don't read stories on fandoms I don't follow (except pace's Lost--oh and some of varcinie's Heroes!) but that has me puzzled and intrigued.
I've signed in and out of so many comms, I can't remember now. I have one poetry one I love, they send a poem every day. Peaceful_daily sends a lovely photo.

Everytime I discover a new fandom, I join more comms, but I rarely delete anything so the flist just keeps growing. I end up scanning more and reading and commenting less.

I tend to just memorize the LJ communities I like... Because I don't want my friends to find out about the more embarrassing ones. "Rounds_of_Kink"? You better believe I just type that one each time. Hey, my brother reads my LJ, I got appearances to keep up.

The comm for Barney Stinson/How I Met Your Mother is called slut_up. Perfectly innocent I assure you but it doesn't look good.

Hey, my brother reads my LJ, I got appearances to keep up. Ha! I was just saying I was trying to do ROK but couldn't figure out how to sign up to write. You have to prompt and request and it seems so complicated. Like pledging a (very naughty) sorority. And I unthinkingly linked some friends and family to that Joe Strummer post at LJ, and now they're all talking about my blog and reading the fanfiction. Which I did not predict. How old is your brother? Do you think he knows what femslash means? *worries about 14-year old nephew*
