I like how it stands out; maybe I'm seeing the second version. My only concern is how to keep it updated, it wouldn't be a day by day thing, would it? Maybe top row newest stuff, second row holding tank for a week or so, then gone.
Do we organize the updates or anyone can do randomly? Those who'd know how that is.
ETA that last sentence made no sense but never mind. Crap, it's August 22nd already?

Basically I think we're all just pickin' nits. I ain't gonna make no suggestions at all. I'm just here for the ride. But.... well... you gotta be careful about making changes. They gotta like, be.... like everyone agrees a change is needed and its obvious.
I still remember the first time I scrolled down to shirtless Bret Harrison. I'm still laughing.

Unpopular opinion time. I know we have to have smileys to smooth the path of expression. But all those devil faces, staring, burning and laughing. You guys don't know how long it takes me to make up a post with the tags and links and all, and it's scaring me. Plus, I'm not crazy about how they mess up the line spacing. Maybe if they were smaller, or there were fewer of them? Staring at me?
But...I can live with it. *averts eyes*

You can always avoid them ck, and just do it the old fashioned way if you need to express yourself. : ) ; ) : D : ( and the like. That's what I do when I'm in a hurry and post in the quick reply box.

I think Blue found a forum hack somewhere that'd put the smilies in a dropdown box-- that might hide them. And... I think I might have promised her I'd do that anyway. They scare me, too, cko, but I've resigned myself to the idea that they could also be a lot scarier. For instance:  I'm thinking of adding that code to all the censored words on our board. So whenever someone says something unpleasant, RAY WISE'S HEAD WILL MYSTERIOUSLY APPEAR IN THEIR MESSAGE. |

The names in the dropdown appear to be their file names-- if they're saved to an independent host somewhere, those can be changed. (Although then someone will have to go into the Global Footer and manually change the URLs in the script. It's not hard to find, though.)

Thanks for the change; I haven't tried them but the little box is nice, neat, and I'm not scared any more.
And the What's New box is lovely. Pleasing to the eye and a great addition, even though I keep forgetting to use it.

The new What's New box with the DMV line is great but can the big banner say Reaper DMV on it if that's our official name? Pimping this board elsewhere is hard when I either have to call it Reaper Forum (boring) or Your Own Personal Portal to Hell (too long. YOPPTH?)

Yes, pace. There's a new banner (that says Reaper DMV) to go with the new box, I just haven't set the new layout to default yet.
