DRAFT 2
Bravo's website has a contact page for e-mail (click here). We highly recommend, however, that you send a letter through the mail, since it is the most effective means of getting your message across to Bravo. Taking the time to compose a letter, address, and mail it impresses advertisers and corporations more than a just an e-mail.
At least consider sending in a postcard; here's one you can use (click here).
Don't forget to send an e-mail to TWoP's Head Moderator, Strega, and say that you sent a letter of complaint to Bravo. (info).

I really, REALLY like it. It's sharp, short, and to-the-point without a trace of combativeness or bitterness.

Help us out! ;D "Stop Twop and Roll" "Drop TWoP" "My TWOP is Broken" "TWOP Has Fallen and It Can't Get Up" "Let Your Voice Be Heard" "The TWOP Crusade" HELP!!!!!!!

I made a few edits on the webpage per our discussion, Blue, so that should be ready to go. Just consistency in abbreviations. Anyone want to check, feel free.
OYM, if there's a problem with the host, and we need one that takes $, let me know. I'd be happy to throw in a few $ since Stinger covered the ad-free thing for the next three months! (Unless we start getting over 50,000 views.) Thanks for that, Stinger. I'll never say again that you ducked out of a bet.

OYM, if there's a problem with the host, and we need one that takes $, let me know. Oh, no. Get some place that's free. We want this site to be up for years and years and years. We don't want to have to keep up the financial maintenence for that.

*Lo, this is right up your alley! Ideas? ?* That depends on whether the title is to attract people to read, then send a letter, or if it's to be the recommended title of the letter itself. If the latter, then I wouldn't go in the direction pending did. We want the "old" TWoP back, not no TWoP (if I'm reading this correctly). But, if the former: "Where for art thou, TWoP?" or "Why hast thou forsaken me, TWoP?" [I'm sort of into a classics theme right now.] For something slightly more modern: "The 'New' TwoP: The Betamax of fan sites". Pretty lame, but I plead that it's late. If I come up w/ others, I'll be sure to post.

OYM - have you found a reliable site yet? I'd be happy to look for that one list at ProBoards again with all the host suggestions if you need me to. I don't know the specifics of what you're looking for in a site though, so let me know.

So, who all got banned from TWOP? I have apparently been missing out; I thought it was just the one random guy that showed up. Guess not. I'm loving the layout for the boards. The red border is a nice touch. I was banned. It's oddly gratifying to see I wasn't the only one. I was a newbie, too (as I am here). I had a few posts on the reaper board.

Well, it was kind of surprising and random. I was mostly a lurker (very unusual for me), still am I guess on occasion. The shift keys on my laptop don't always work. For some random post, I was sent a big official warning (not even just a note or something) about the fact that some of my sentences didn't begin with capital letters. It was a very rude message. I was confused, and thought there was a misunderstanding of some sort, so I sent a PM to the mod. wham. Banned for "repetitive snottiness".
Well, if that's how they treat their newbies, I'm surprised anyone stays. Anyway, I've been keeping an eye on the reaper thread and thought I'd finally wander over here.

Not by a long shot. I mean, texting is one thing, but a friggin' noncap? Did you know you could also get warned/banned just for making a mistake in grammar? Forgetting the odd punctuation? Or even if you bold or italicize too much (and no, there's no consensus on what constitutes "too much"). There are actually people who will report you to Twop's Forum Traffic Control (FTC). The only other board I have ever been at that "moderated" grammar was the Harry Potter Lexicon Forum. And by that, I mean the only thing they moderated was if you put a lowercase "i" at the beginning of the post - because the forum was set to the shortcut where if you did that, the entire post ended up in italics. After that, they really didn't care. A great many members there don't speak English as their first language, so no one made a big deal about it. We're trying to keep the Reaper thread alive. Just not over at TWoP. Thanks for finally moseying on over. ;D

OK, need help with language for this. Starting with Blue's above:
This petition is to request the removal of Jacob - aka TWOP Bayliss - as moderator for the Television Without Pity forums. As avid supporters of Television Without Pity, we are dismayed by the apparently capricious and vengeful actions of this moderator, whom many of us had admired and enjoyed for his love of television, fine writing, and insightful recaps.
These actions include: (banning without warning, rude language, banning posters who make appeals or support other posters, etc)
This has resulted in: (ill feeling, people leaving TwoP)
(Something about how we've been good users and customers of TWoP and want to see it survive and thrive, but it won't at this rate.)
Thanks!

how about: the capricious and seemingly vindictive bans of members otherwise in good standing, banning members as the first resort for mild or imagined offenses, vituperative responses to innocuous questions, and tendentious censorship.
(on edit: ok, I am a classicist, I like latin-derived words. But they also sound much more...petition-y. And it'd definitely differentiate us from your average trolls. Much harder to dismiss as a bunch of whiny hooligans)

I totally just exalted you. The only problem is, the Jacobian language would appeal to his worshippers, not his victims.

hey, he doesn't use all that many lovely latin words. He does like long sentences though. On a random note because it is 2 am, I can't stand his recaps. I know some people like them, but my feeling's been that he has all the natural talent of the average freshman when it comes to textual analysis.

We're talking about the BSG recapper, right? I had to stop reading those things because they lasted longer than the actual TV show. I blame him for the current trend of 20-page "recaps".
