Somewhat alternate perspective, quite lucid, from TV By The Numbers, saying that basically the show was dead when CW didn't renew, it's unlikely that a one-hour show would get picked up for syndication, that we're unlikely to ever hear anything definitive, etc. Worth a read, not sure it changes my view on the previous page. I'm sure we'll keep updating. Stay tuned.

From atromiti at LJ:
ALSO. You've probably already thought of this, but is there any kind of Twitter protest going on? I don't even have a Twitter account, but I'd be willing to get one for this. If we could get all the fans to Twitter with the tag #reaper or something, it might be cool. Another thing to spam ABC with, like the link to the petition. Again, you've probably already thought of this...

I love Reaper so much, I'm excited to see what Fazekas/Butters do next with their contract at Fox. Like Joss Whedon, they might use some of the current cast, staff, and crew on their next show. We could turn from Reaper-ites to Fazekas/Buttersites. Yeah it's not catchy, but we got time to work on it. Anyway, stick with us, everybody. Whatever it is we're doing here, we're not done yet! That's an excellent point, I hadn't thought of that. We know Joss likes to recycle his actors from show to show. Now that the cast of Reaper is free, they may find themselves involved in F/B project for Fox. That is an exciting thought, and of course we would cover all the action here.

This is crap. I'm just going to quit watching mainstream tv. Ever show I grow to like gets canceled.

Excellent, atromiti, great to see you here! We're actually trying to track down an ABC contact via twitter, do you know of one? There is some action on the #reaper #savereaper front, and it's been a great way to reach other fans, but so far no-one knows more that we do, or if they do, they're not talking. Look for me over there, i'm ccatko.
And welcome, deathrabbit. Rant away, that's one of the things we're here for. Meanwhile, if people can muster up the energy, we have a lot of other threads here to talk about our love for the show!

I don't know if any ABC contacts are on Twitter, sorry. I'll make a Twitter account today and add you, though. Being new to Twitter, I'm not sure how this all works. How many uses of a hashtag do you suppose it takes to get something listed under the "trending topics" bar, even for a minute? Probably a whole hell of a lot, right? It might be worth a try, though. If we get Jenny Wade and Bret Harrison (even if one or both of those accounts are fake, which I think is more than likely, they still have a couple hundred followers each) to ask all their followers to tweet #savereaper, and if we also advertise it here, on LJ, and at all Reaper-related Facebook groups, we might get something happening. At the very least, we can link to the hashtag to show how much support the show has.

Going to help with the spamming. Should I just use my same one email address?

There's a site that lets you set temporary email addresses to send messages from so you could make it seem like they were getting mailed from different ppl.

Ok, I have to go again, but will be back on tonight for more brainstorming. I dunno about the different emails and such. On one hand, I wanna be honest, but on the other hand....
I will say that I *am* to the point where the rules for the websites vs. the personal emails are changing. I no longer care if we spam the hell out of the ABC and ABC Studios websites. But whether we should inflate our numbers, or just let them know who the seriously pissed off people are is a good question.
BTW - Hi atromiti! Glad you're finally here!

I know things are tense right now with very little info coming out, but we need to make sure when we write to the networks we don't let any anger or bitterness show. We don't won't our campaign to devolve to that point. If we aren't respectful and honest with the network, I don't see why they should be the same to us.

I'd even be careful not too get to angry with ABC on the forum, even though we have a right to be upset. People know this place exists and they know we're fighting to save the show - they could be lurking. In other words, be careful to never admit if your going to use 2 or 3 different e-mails with faux identitys.

Great advice, everyone. Courtesy, hope, and a little irritation mixed in, to your own particular recipe. I'm still getting people to write in. On the ABC twitter front, avoid the ABC News links, because it's the studio that produces Reaper, not the network side, that we are trying to reach.

Stop making sense. ;D Ahem, while I *may* have been a bit...uh... upset at the ABC Comment sites last night...I *do* plan on being better today. You have NO idea how hard that email to Ms. Chang was to write. Let's just say that editing is my friend. I am trying very hard to be the person I want others to be, but yesterday was a severe test of my normally very sarcastic nerves. I will work on being better. At least for now. And I WILL stress that no matter what, if you are corresponding to an ACTUAL person - politeness, politeness, politeness!

Ha! It looks more like an internal staff newsletter, mostly job listings and mention of awards they've won. I'm checking to see the @ of it to see what people send to them.
ETA: Yup, people are tweeting @disneyabc to save shows, specifically I saw #savetheunusuals, want to join in, kathyk and reallymzungu?
Shall we try it?

I sent a very polite letter to Ms. Chang. My comments on the ABC site were a bit more snappish, but I wasn't vulgar or insulting. I'm just so tired of the smart shows getting canceled. If the Powers That Be of TVland are determined to make all television 100% suck, they should stop giving us tantalizing glimpses of *good* shows before ruthlessly axing them. It's cruel and unusual! Crap, well now according to Nick C. it's deader than a doornail. Apparently, if it ever even was going to come back, all of the cast would have been different.

"It seems they toyed with a Labine-less, and Harrison-less REAPER with Ray Wise and a new actor playing “Sam,” but they decided to not go through with it."
What? Why Harrison-less? Why wouldn't Brett want to continue the show?
WHAT IS GOING ON THIS IS SO CONFUSING ARGGH CAPSLOCK RAGE ASDFGHJKL;;

It seems they toyed with a Labine-less, and Harrison-less REAPER with Ray Wise and a new actor playing “Sam,” but they decided to not go through with it.Oh, what the Hell now? Is Bret really that stupid to give up a secure job for nothingness? Honestly, pray tell me what better option *he’s* looking at. Screw it. I’m still keeping up the Pro-Reaper stuff with ABC. It’s not like Bret has anything else to do right now that they couldn’t entice him back. One would think the lure of oh say, a salary, would be more of an incentive than oh say, no salary. We’re doing twitter in addition to email now, including DisneyABC. If that’s really bretharrison’s twitter, I say go after him. I'm tempted to have pacejunkie post his personal email address. www.krakoom.com/contact-us/questionsforbret@krakoom.com And this doesn’t even mention, ABC could have had the syndicated/cable deal in the bag LONG before Bret and Tyler lost their minds and opted out.
