How can Reaper be considered on the bubble when it hasn't even aired yet? What are they basing it on? Well I'm not surprised about the six though since those are the best shows the network has as far as revenue and/or media buzz goes (which isn't saying much). We'll just need to do our best to see that Reaper gets the ratings and show them all. Wish there was more we could do.

Unfortunately, I have the bad feeling that it means that we are on the bubble because there is no room on the schedule for Reaper. We know the two girlie shows (Melrose and Lily) are going to get picked up. So that fills the Tuesday and Wednesday holes. So the only options for Reaper are Friday thru Sunday. If they pick up those other three development shows mentioned, that will help to fill Friday and Sunday. I think the renewal of Smallville may have delt us a mortal blow. Unless they maybe team Reaper with Vampire Diaries on Friday or Sunday. I guess it all depends on what the CW plans to do with Friday thru Sunday programming. I think for us to have any chance, we will have to retain all of our 2.6 million audience from last year. I still think we could do well on Sunday, if they are satisfied with 2.0 to 2.5 million for an audience on that night (which they should be, based on recent Sunday audiences of barely 1.0 million). What does everyone else think.

I think if the CW doesn't want Reaper the show's creators should move it to another network. Monk is ending in 2010 and I think Reaper would do well paired with Psych since both shows are buddy comedies. I think the CW has sandbagged Reaper by putting it against American Idol. I hope the CW takes that into consideration when looking into the ratings

If Reaper still performs adequately, I think it'll be back again. CW has to split up its Thursday night though. They just barely got Smallville and Supernatural has a 5 year limit, so they need their new shows to hit. If they dont split them up then CW really does have no hope of surviving.

What pisses me off most is A) the CW has already seen the season - not to mention told Tyler et al. they love the show even if they also told them it's on the bubble - and it's not like Reaper's numbers will alter drastically from last year; and B) THEY'LL KEEP SHOWS WITH OBVIOUSLY ONE SEASON LEFT SINCE THEY ARE OLDER THAN DIRT RATHER THAN INVEST IN NEW SHOWS THAT WILL LAST LONGER AND GIVE THEM MORE IN THE LONG RUN. But what the fuck do I know. Press release: www.kryptonsite.com/season9ishappening.htmHollywood Reporter: www.thrfeed.com/2009/02/cw-renews-smallville-gossip-90210.html

It could always come back mid-season again. I'll just be glad to see it come back.

I hate 18-34 year-old females so much. Which is difficult, because I am one.
Really liked the interview, though some of the episode/plot descriptions have me slightly (only slightly!) worried.

Aw, pending, you have internalized demographobia. Which is not as good a made-up word as fannui.

Fannui has to win some sort of award. And I was concerned about some of those plots too, particular the one about having to get the soul laid before he goes back And I was actually considering letting my eleven year old watch the show with me this year. I mean it's on at eight o'clock, but now with the hot stepsister and that other thing I'm going to have to tape it and watch it later.

If you want, I can always pm you and let you know when that episode will air. I can tell you that he won't be the soul-of-the-week for the first 4 episodes. I also suspect that this is as undressed as Kristin will get. Cady in her bathing suit was probably more "scandalous". Personally, I'm more skeeved by Sock's "she just misses your man muscle" and the upcoming Devil's "I've soiled many women" lines than how they dress the women on this show ( although this outfit sucks). I'll agree though that I'm not necessarily looking forward to the spoiler episode you mentioned.

Yeah I just thought that sounded too infantile, even for this show. I get the sense that the network is making the show ramp up its sexy raunchy factor. I definitely want to do a prescreen of each episode before letting the offspring watch. Oddly, I'm fine with all the demon stuff, because that's pure fantasy, it's the adult stuff that makes me squirm. Last season was mostly okay apart from the odd one (like Jack King) and she really did like the show.

I usually don't mind it, because honestly, it reminds me a whole lot more of how my friends and I act (i.e. tasteless sex jokes) than how the kids on Gossip Girl act (i.e. every episode of Gossip Girl). Cady stripping off was way weird, but she was established as weird and out there. And while my dad has yet to top "I've soiled many women" he DOES overshare a lot about past girlfriends, so I'll even buy that. But the "get him laid" soul plot just sounds like the "Leon" episode last season -- not a fave -- crossed with a Van Wilder movie.

I'm a bad judge of such things since I'm: 1) Quite thick-skinned about sexual innuendo in real life, but 2) Constantly startled by what is said on network TV these days, since I don't watch all that much of it. Like "What a dick." And Family Guy! My nephew was watching that when he was 10!
With the show on at the earlier hour, I can see it would be an issue. I'd hope that some of the references might go right by some people? I'm hoping the "getting him laid" thing will be, uh, subtle. I don't enjoy it when shows get tacky-sexualized for no reason, but for me it's become like product placement in TV shows (Everwood!). If it'll help save the show, I'm willing to tough it out. That's how I rationalize it.

*Hannah voice* I can't believe my mom bought me a new Mercury Milan!! That's pretty much all we can hope for, that they'll go for the subtle, rather than the overt. I hate when they just throw things like that out there. Annoys the hell out of me. So, premire ratings guesses? I'm gonna go big with the optimism and guess 3.32 million and a 1.3 in the 18-49 demo.

That's pretty much all we can hope for, that they'll go for the subtle, rather than the overt. Once upon a time, the 8pm hour was reserved for "family shows". Then the WB put Charmed on at that hour and I gave up all hope. That, plus this show has Sock. Oooooh! We shoulda done another betting pool! And wow, talk about optimism, random! I'll go with a 2.9 mil and a 1.1 demo.

Heh. Well hey, Supernatural has seen a double digit increase over last season. Smallville is pretty much on par with last season as well and both have been getting over 4 and 3.5 million on a consistent basis this season. Hopefully our little show will get the same sort of boost.

I just wrote my e-mail for keeping Reaper for a third season. I told the CW to put it on Sunday night if they have to. Maybe we could plant that seed in their heads. I'm sure at least 2 million of us would follow it there. And two million is twice the size of their current Sunday shows.

WTH? Why are the numbers so different from MediaLife? ETA: Ah, because they're 18-49, Zap2It is everyone. That can't be right. Only 1.5 million viewers? And oddly, yet another different number, this time from TV Guy:
