Okay, it came up on my Google alerts and since it said the CW on it I assumed it was from the network. Also, how would this guy get on the sets of all these CW shows and get to use the CW's logo if he wasn't mainstream media?

TVGuide.com: Are you going to be doing any more episodes of Reaper? And, um, can you tell us now if your character was supposed to be the spawn of Satan?

Stroup: I owe those guys so much, because it, along with my work on Grey's Anatomy, opened my eyes to TV. I don't think I will be going back, but I desperately wanted her to be The Devil's daughter. There was never a confirmation or denial, but I wanted her to seem gradually crazier and crazier and a little evil. In my mind, I'm saying yes.

Huh. Stroup doesn't think she's going back, and yet Tom Spezialy said at the end of last season that Cady's storyline wasn't over. Interesting.

I also thought she was going to get crazier before her story ended. It did seem abrupt but I doubt she'll be back. We may just learn more about her through another character.

Reminder that AV Club has quite well-written and generally favorable recap-reviews by Steve Hyden. From the one for Cancun:

Reaper has earned the benefit of the doubt, at least until the next time it hits the skids. For all the ripping I’ve done of the writers for being pokey and directionless at times, the last two weeks (and, before that, three out of the previous five) have rocked pretty hard. Turning the tables on Sam this episode, and setting up a new dynamic next season where demons will also be hunting him, was another smooth move. Honestly, for all your TV Clubbers that have defended the episodes I hated, can you really argue that these recent episodes devoted to the show’s mythology and larger story don’t make the jokier, shallower episodes that dominated the season’s middle section look friggin’ weak in comparison?

Plus, the comments are less insane than usual; mostly thoughtful. I liked this one:

Count me in for one who can't stop staring at the pic. He's one sexy beast, and it makes me insane that the CW doesn't use this more to attract its female audience.

For our New Zealand members:

TVNZ has announced a landmark agreement to make a selection of US network series available on TVNZ ondemand for free...

...including S2 of Reaper. Hey, if ABC can sell this show overseas, maybe it'll be able to sell Reaper to another network when its ratings completely tank if it's true it will have a December run.

I don't think they'll be selling to another network unless the CW folds altogether. And even then its a long shot since it so rarely happens, but its more likely than with a show that gets cancelled.

More good news as well On Monday, they are filming an episode of one of my favorite TV shows next door at the church - "Reaper". YEAH (If you have never seen it - you should check it out. It#39;s very funny. I love when they film so close and I can get down there and talk to the film folks. AND maybe I#39;ll catch a glimpse of the devil - although they are filming at the church, so maybe he won#39;t be in that scene. More than once, I’d watch and episode that seemed to be laying the groundwork for a slow build the rest of the season, only to have that plot line come to a climax an episode or two later. To me, it shows that the writers are more interested in examining the aftermath of a climactic event than stringing the audience along with a slow build. It’s easy to dangle a thread in front of an audience all season, but it takes more guts to jump in, bring events to a head, and say “Let’s see what happens because of this.”

I made a comment over there:

I remember reading a TV Squad review of Reaper once where the writer said "I sometimes think the writers try and figure out what would be the typical TV plot line and then head in the exact opposite direction." I think that's completely true, and I agree. It is *quite* refreshing and definitely more entertaining.

Oddly enough, although Krasinski's are definitely my type and I'm simply mad about HIMYM, Radnor who plays Ted isn't my favourite, that would be Neil Patrick Harris' Barney. NPH is the reason to watch (and love) HIMYM.

Review: Reaper, ITV1

Considering what rubbish gets shown earlier on in the listings it’s just a shame that only the nocturnal or those with an active Sky Plus machine will really get to discover the delights of Reaper.

And that's the tragedy. This show has not suffered from much criticism anywhere. Even here, the critics have always loved it but still people don't or can't seem to watch it. Perfect recipe for the brilliant but cancelled drawer.

Mistressofrobin can explain this better than me, but she put up a Fandom Meme over at Reaper_tv. As far as I can tell all you do is post on it saying you're a fan of Reaper. It seems to be one of those "drum up support for cruelly neglected things that should really be bigger than they are." I really love mistressofrobin's quote: "It is a grave injustice to Reaper's awesome that its fandom is small."

This is from the past, but that article in Variety that we took as a shoutout to our TWoP fandom:

Its aud may be small (really small) but their love for the show burns like, well, hell fire. REALLY cool blog from an extra who worked on "Greg Schmeg". I think it's the spot right before Sam and Sock 'slid' into view and Sam demanded a vessel. It's nice to see Reaper really is a fun place to work.
