But a chance encounter with an elusive soul (Sean Patrick Thomas, “Save the Last Dance,” “A Raisin in the Sun”) who claims to have gotten out of his own deal with the Devil, offers Sam a glimmer of hope that he may not be stuck working for the Devil forever.

And certainly not if the show gets canceled. Feel like they're preparing for an ending?

The CW's press site said "Mongo" but one of the photo captions says "Mongol." I think it might be the latter too - I might have to fix it

Hopefully I'll have more goodies to share soon. Also, good news: ReaperSite's had its third-most page views ever today! Definitely a good sign for the future, I hope. I've promoted it in a good place on KryptonSite so hopefully we'll get some crossover audience going on.

Valarie Rae Miller isn't listed as one of the cast on the press site, either... though I haven't been able to confirm with anyone or not.

Oh great, craig, let us know! This is getting so exciting. Even though we have mixed feelings about all the news, it's still such fun to see all the activity and speculation.

And, on the Mongo/Mongol thing, I remember back at TWoP when that spoiler first came out, we were speculating on whether it was kinda derogatory; I wonder if they decided to make it Mongo so it seemed more silly?

I'm quite curious of the Devil with the demon pics. Is the Devil saving Sam from an attack? That's not necessarily the Devil's style, not to mention makes it even more clear to the Rebellion that Sam is special to him. Plus, it might give Sam a false sense of security if he thinks the Devil will always save him.

I also forgot to say that I'm quite happy we now know who Sam bonks on the head with a frying pan. You have no idea how many times I tried to still those images on the promo to figure it out.

RW: Where do we pick things up? Well, you know, I'm the Devil. Sam is this 21 year old slacker who's parents sold his soul to me before he was born, and I came back to collect, and I don't want to take him back to Hell with me, I want him to be my bounty hunter here on Earth. So that's what he's been doing for the first 18 or so episodes, been trying to capture escaped souls from Hell, trying to keep a romance going with his girlfriend, and exist at the Work Bench - his work place.

So he's trying to juggle all of that stuff, and of course I'm...<grins broadly> I'm not trying to juggle anything. I'm perfectly capable of handling everything that goes on in the show, and oh, all over the Earth really.

Well, of course you know Sam's father was, he was buried in the Earth and he was supposedly dead. But now it seems he may have a life after death. And I think you're gonna see a bit more of that.

satanISmyCHEERIOS: There seem to be a lot of "father/son" moments between Sam and the Devil. Is there anything to that?

RW: Oh sure. There's something to it. <laughs> I can sum it up probably in one short sentence, and you can make of it what you will: The Devil is very prolific.

sheriffmeatball: Do you find yourself in "Devil Mode" when you're NOT acting?

RW: <laughing> Well, you know, you'd really have to ask my wife that I think, probably. She thinks I'm in "Devil Mode" quite a bit of the time, but I...no, I'm joking of course.

He and I do share many traits in common. We like to <straightens tie> dress alike. We like our hair a certain way. We like to keep our teeth brushed.

I do feel a, an increasing sense of confidence and power from the character. I feel that I can influence other people's lives more fully.

NotGoogle: Has anyone ever pointed at you across the street and shouted "SATAN"?

RW: <laughs> Yes! They come up and they say "Gosh, you're a, you're a great Devil. You're the greatest Devil I've ever seen." And I don't know how many Devils I've seen, but I've seen quite a few Devils, and I have to say that I'm my own favorite choice.

NotGoogle: Does Jerry Belvedere have a middle name?

RW: <laughs> Um, does not have a middle name to my knowledge. And I think the name "Jerry Belvedere" is bad enough without having one.

sugarbeeps: Is this your favorite role?

RW: I would have to say so, yeah. It's kinda a one-in-a-lifetime deal, you know. And to have the opportunity to play it week after week after week is just incredible. And I hope that it continues, you know. It would be a shame to put Mr. D to bed early on, you know. And I think that there's so much more to be enjoyed.

It also appears that Josie is no longer a series regular, confirming the speculation. (I tried making a link to the images posted from the Reapersite gallery but for some reason it wasn't working from here. You can find it from the main page.)

WHAT THE HELL?? They call those promo pics?? THEY'RE THE EXACT SAME AS LAST YEAR, THEY JUST PHOTOSHOPPED VALARIE OUT!!!!!!!! And changed the color of Sock's shirt from red to green. Dumbasses.

Aw, I'll miss Josie, even though I often thought she served little purpose beyond a plot device. Val was nice.

And re the episode summary, someone help me to understand why Andi is not speaking to Sam? When last we saw them they were pretty tight, Andi and Sam were together at the Brick after his dad died. How can the summary start by saying Sam returns hoping to make things right with Andi. Did I miss something?

Pretty amazing start though, for the guys to return with a job or a home. What the heck happened? Hope they return to the Bench at some point.

Well, this being Sam - and more important, this being Sam with Sock and Ben, I'm guessing he didn't write. Or he did, and it wasn't what Andi wanted to hear.

So Josie's leaving is a creative thing...or a budgetary thing? Clearly the CW wants female interraction on here and her being black adds to their diversity goals, so I doubt they had much to do with it. I think it'd have to do with probably 80% creative...they didn't really do anything with her that was too substantial, which is a shame, because they could have something had they tried...

With the Work Bench out of the story, I wonder if we'll see Ted for a while. Hopefully they're not really chucking them out of there permanently, but I assume they are done with the old apartment and will be getting a new place.
