I actually may jump ahead and just watch that one episode. I'm not sure I feel like watching any more Buffy, for sure not 2.5 more seasons right now. Don't get me wrong, it was an amazing episode, and the quality of the show is unmistakeable, and I still love the characters, but...at TWOP I posted that I'd seen this ep and someone added "The beginning of the end of FunBuffy." So, I'm luxuriating in the Sports Night rewatch, which is fantastic, and interspersing Arrested Development. I need to laugh, y'know?

Oh, don't let snobbish fan opinions sway you though because I was definitely in the minority but I thought the end of the series was great, I really enjoyed seasons 5, 6 and 7 and I wasn't the only one. I didn't like season four as much I thought 5 was much better and it stayed strong from there with the exception of the odd episode or two. I liked the overall arcs better.

I guess I've been more in the mood for comedy lately; plus I'm re-watching Season Two Buffy for this LJ comm I'm currently not writing for (but hope to catch up in the Amnesty Round, sigh). Still looking forward to Dollhouse; must check out the discussion at TWoP. It's still on track for January, right? Dexter ended its season in fitting fashion and I can only still say yay Deb and yay Anton. Jimmy Smits acquitted himself amazingly well as an actor; who knew he had this in him? And hey, post #777, does that mean anything? Other than I can't believe I've actually had 777 things to say?

Okay ck, I broke down and watched Big Bang Theory for some Michael Trucco. It was actually very very funny, one of the better ones I've seen, but the mancrush thing was a total ripoff of a Seinfeld episode I saw once.

Is anyone planning to watch the new Night Rider series? I have such mixed feelings. OMG - that made-for-tv movie was so bad it was almost good. Hooooo-kay city.

Because someone has to keep up with this kind of thing: BuddyTV's 50 Sexiest Men of 2008. No-one from Reaper of course, but some Smallville, and Jared Padalecki beat out Jensen Ackles. Oh and Mmmmichael Trucco. Lee Pace and John Krasinski. Many of the others are shirtless. And hey, I didn't know Brian Austin Green was on Sarah Connor Terminator Chronicles!

Well I seem to be discovering Angel backwards. Just found out yesterday that TNT airs reruns in the wee hours of the morning. I set my trusty DVR and snatched three season five eps today. Saw two of them and they were great. Okay, I really like season five. How the heck did Wesley lose the dork? He's as cool as Giles now.

I've heard this referred to on Whedon boards as "one of the best character arcs in all of TV." You'll have to keep watching backwards to see it evolve, or I guess devolve. by realcdaae.

I saw Angel season 5 before Buffy season 3, so seeing Wesley originally dorkified was a shock -- and hilarious. Very, very hilarious. XD

I've developed a strong addiction to crap BBC shows: Merlin and Britannia High, to be specific. Merlin is some serious abuse of the Arthurian Legends, but I love it even more for how it just doesn't care. And Giles is King Uther! Then Britannia High, which is just a shameless attempt to make some High School Musical Bank. More fun than the show is Charlie Brooker making fun of it, so I'll let him summarize: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SEULZgsZG1s

Oh yeah, Yvonne Strahovski is amazing, if that's what you mean. She's gorgeous, but also quirky. Funny. I wish I could watch that show regularly but it's on my teaching night. And, I know I'm in the minority here on this one, but Adam Baldwin, mmmm.

Okay, this is so appealing for so many reasons. Though I'm a little confused by the John Connor/Riley reference; I guess I quit watching that show too soon.

Riley is this fat girl they tried to institute as John's love interest... but since Thomas Dekker comes off as gayer than a three dollar bill the chemistry just doesn't pop. Now it seems (SPOILER WARNING!) Riley wasn't who she said she was anyway, so it was all artificial, but it really came off more like awesomely awesomely awesomely gay guy/best friend than anything. hehe we got a new fancy schmancy spoiler button now craig! and sooo good to see you back! ~blue

Thank you Novium! And, topic (aka just so I have an excuse to post the picture), Nathan Fillion's new show, Castle, is premiering Monday, March 9. From IMDb: Yeah, I'd watch him just walk around for an hour.

So I finally watched Fringe tonight. I got so excited when it started. It's the new X-Files! Why didn't someone tell me this???
...then I watched it.
WTH? This show could be so awesome, but maaaan is it screwed. The only thing anywhere near interesting in it is Pacey, and Pacey isn't even the lead! Worse, there's no romantic tension *with* the lead, Cate Blanchett 2.0. In fact, Cate 2.0 was only really interesting when she was imagining Jack Devereaux (tm Days of Our Lives), which really isn't saying much.
The story itself was fairly interesting, with the guy with the over powering electricity. But the execution sucked. OMG DOES DENETHOR NEED TO BE FIRED!!! He's horrible, which is sad 'cuz the guy's a good actor otherwise. But here? Not only does his character, Exposition Man, suuuuuuck, but he isn't even any good at playing him!!!! Even worse, he takes up like every single second of the show! Or at least, that's what it felt like.
And what's with curly-haired girl with no lines but is in every scene anyways? Even Exposition Man couldn't remember her name.
This show should really be focused around Pacey's character and not Cate 2.0. At the very least, he should be doing more than just being Exposition Man's human translator.

IT CAME IT CAME!! MY DR. HORRIBLE DVD CAME!!!!!!1!!!! Mine too, and I'm watching it now. But...I am rather non-plussed by the musical commentary? The songs are awesome and I'm sure very clever, but they don't really go along with the video portion? I'd rather see them actually perform these (new) songs, even if just sitting around a table. But maybe it has to grow on you? Oh, but the "making of" is fantastic! How can you go wrong with Joss and Nathan? And Neil Patrick Harris, doing physical moves between takes, and playing the piano!, mmmmmm. Neato brotherly stuff among the Whedons. So cool.

I tried watching Fringe with the pilot and tuned in around the half way point. I was bored, and didn't really like any of the characters although Pacey's dad was semi-interesting.
Is it me or was Pacey trying to do a bad poor-man's impression of George Clooney? Not impressed.
However, Blue, I am impressed that you know who "Jack Devereaux" is. I was telling someone the other day about how I'd end up getting hooked on DOOL whenever my grandmother would visit during the summer... and now, the show is nearly unrecognizable, and the acting is atrocious. (It wasn't always that bad, was it? I mean, DOOL did give us Jensen Ackles, so we should thank them for that...)
