Hmm, it does seem like it wouldn't be able to last 7 seasons or whatever, but I think they could do 5, without it seeming convoluted. I'm not sure what happens in the book, but they're both sophmores now, right? That gives us 3 years of highschool and then maybe something happens to keep them close by? This would be a great line-up. I do hope CW sticks with it, because both shows, like you pointed out, compliment each other well. An entire night of horror is something everyone should enjoy.

They're sophomores on Privileged? I don't remember it ever being mentioned on the show, but I always assumed they were juniors or seniors. Either way, they could possibly get away with five seasons, if it doesn't get cancelled first.
Heroes is on tonight! I'm excited but wary, because although I like the show, season two was just...well, meh. Hopefully this season it'll redeem itself.

I'm also excited for Heroes. No one loved season two but I think they're fixing to redeem themselves. We'll see.

Yeah, the advertising has been pushing the "better than season 2, we swear!" angle hard. It doesn't make much of a difference to me, since I pretty much zoned out for season 2, and didn't see any of it.

This, I actually dont know. I'm assuming since they're 16, that would coincide with Sophmore Year, but I could be wrong. And yeah, 5 years is assuming it doesn't get cancelled. *sigh* I don't think I've had one tv season where I wasn't worrying about one of my shows getting cancelled. How wrong is that? Reguarding Heroes, I stopped watching after season 1 ended. I just couldn't get into it anymore. I tried a little tonight, but didn't feel like trying too much, so I turned off the tv. . I did watch How I Met Your Mother. It was better than last year's premire, but fell short of season 1 and 2's. They keep pushing Barney to the forefront and that's a no-no for me. I just...I have a Barney Limit and the show has been crossing that line for awhile now. At least he was with Alyson a lot tonight, so that was nice.

I'm the opposite -- huge Barney fan and I'm glad the show focuses more on him now. I always found Ted's story boring, and the supporting characters were my favourites. I liked the premiere because I'm a total Barney/Robin shipper and it had the aw factor. NPH knows how to bring the AW.
I also saw Heroes. Really liked it, it felt just like season one and all of the mistakes of season two were eliminated or fixed. Nice tight focus on the original cast. They basically did everything Lost was unable to accomplish in its third season, which was to get back to what everyone first loved about the show. Pure joy.

I loved the HIMYM premiere. NPH definitely knows how to bring on the AW. And I could totally relate to Stella, since I've never seen Star Wars either, haha. This is one of the few sitcoms that's actually funny, so hopefully I'll be able to watch it consistently this year.
I'm probably the only one that thinks this, but I hated the Heroes premiere. I mean, it had its moments, but overall it was boring and irritating. The pacing felt really off, I still can't stand that Sylar guy's acting, and...
(((SPOILER)))
...the plot where regular people can get powers now? UGH. It's so much more compelling when it's nearly impossible for normal characters to become "special," yet they are still extraordinary in their own way. And Mohinder the Brain becoming Mohinder the Brawn? I get the irony, but still...ick.
I'm also not a fan of Peter and Claire. Kill 'em off, pleaze? Oh, wait, they're speshul.
My favorite moment was when Elle was on the ground and Peter-but-not-Peter came up to her. Mainly because the look on her face seemed like, "OMG! Aren't you Weevil?! And...I think I used to be Veronica Mars! OMG, memories!"
I'll shut up now.

No, you're not the only one edgy, there's mixed reviews at TwoP, but plenty on both sides. I did like it, I've always hated Peter and always will so that won't change, but I like a lot of the characters.

The ironic part is the reason I first wanted to meet you was because you were the TwoP poster that spoke all of my Charlie thoughts when I was a wee lurker. I thought you were the coolest, most eloquent Charlie fan I knew. I still do.

The only shows which I'm planning to watch (or already watching) are House, Heroes, Dexter and Chuck. Luckily, Reaper and Lost come back mid-season (I can't believe I said that...) since most of my weeknights are now full and I shouldn't be blowing off my homework.
The only actually new shows I'm going to watch are Dollhouse and Harper's Island. Both start mid-season as well.
*sighs*
Though, I think I'm going to drop Lost if the season premire takes the show in a direction I don't want. I didn't like the last season very much and I don't have high hopes for the next.

Chuck is great! at least it was last year, except I can't watch on Mondays, so had to do online. Which just isn't as much fun.
Dexter! Dexter dexter dexter. Amazing show. I was going to hold off 'til we could get more of a .. er .. backlog of episodes, because watching just one at a time is so tough. But I couldn't resist last night. Fantastic characters, beautifully filmed, and fun. As well as creepy and gory. And sexy. Jimmy Smits has joined the cast; hard to tell how that's going to work out.
But...if you've never watched it, I kinda think you need to start from the beginning? I have Season 1 discs if anyone's interested.
This week I'm getting back to Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money on Wednesdays. I don't know what I'll do from 9-10, since I refuse to watch Private Practice though I usually love Tim Daly with a passion.

Dexter's third season started yesterday night. Yesterday. Meaning, September 28th. Which I missed.
I missed Dexter.

Ahem. ANYWAYS.
I watched Chuck tonight. It was excellent and completly blew my mind. I was laughing pretty much the whole time.
I am very happy right now. As long as I don't think about about Dexter. .... Argh.

Bleh. It's official: Heroes is an overrated soap opera that I'm not sure I can stomach anymore.
I loved this from last night's eppy, though, mainly because I love Ando, period.
Hiro: "What do you think you're doing?!" Ando: (duh face) "Uh, something awesome!"
Heh.

*Slowly writes down*
10:00... on... Wednesday... night. Okay, got it. I will not miss you again, Dexter, you can count on it! Thanks for the schedule, cko!
The only reason I still watch Heroes is for Sylar, I can't get enough of the awesome villian he is. I just hope he doesn't go through Badass Decay in this season.

I still find Heroes entertaining enough to watch, even though I'm not like internet-into-it. I also really like Sylar's story.

Fabulous. Glitzy, glam, gorgeous. Awesome Peter Krause as an embattled lawyer. The Baldwin (forget which one). Donald Sutherland, so enticing, so evil. I just love Jeremy (Seth Gabel). And Natalie is luscious. All so great, that Blair Underwood and Lucy Liu make barely a dent. Pretty views of Manhattan. Such fun. And, Pushing Daisies! The loveliest show on TV.

Anyone else see Life on Mars last night? Not quite the caliber of the Brit version but still it was very good.

The Petrelli's were always my favorite part of Heroes... In no small part because the boys were all but making out on national television, which was hilarious and weirdly hot. But I wish they hadn't gone so overboard on Peter's Powers; I liked him better when he was just a little guy who could barely float, then practically overnight he becomes omnipotent. (Good moral for Reaper if they start in on a powers arc for Sam.)
Loved Dexter, but season 1 was so satisfying for me I didn't want to go into season 2-- not to mention the fact that watching episodes on my computer would be a huge pain.

I'm having a lot of problems with Heroes this season actually and Peter is probably the biggest one, but then I never liked him so I think he's suffering not just from too many powers but overexposure. And its not that he has too many powers, is that what he does have is confusing and inconsistent. He can absorb and use any power of anyone else so long as he is near them. That's what its supposed to be anyway. But lately it seems like he can pretty much do anything anytime. The show doesn't follow its own rules.
So I'm sort of kind of back on TwoP posting in the shiny big new Life on Mars forum they have there. Roxy is the mod and I'm banned if I get one more warning, so I'm scrutinizing every post, cutting, editing moving things around trying my best to hang on for dear life. I don't know how long it will last. The safest course of action would be to lurk but I do like to live dangerously.

Well, for heaven's sake that's no way to live. Post away. I'm still over there on Buffy, Arrested Devp, and Dirty Sexy Money--of course the latter is the only current show where there's any modding from what I can tell. I think even Bayliss is wary of venturing into Buffyland. Thanks for the tip on Life on Mars, I'm definitely checking it out.
Pending, re: Dexter--that's what I thought. But Season 2 is also amazing; you don't think they can build on it, but they do. And Season 3 is shaping up likewise. Of course I shouldn't be tempting you away from your studies and whatnot.
