if.net is holding an audition contest to meet one of Reaper's Executive Producers, Mark Gordon. They are using a script from a Reaper episode that has not yet aired to do auditions. This is an online audition, so you film your part at home and upload it to the site. Then you get people to vote for you. The people with the most votes wins, and will get flown to CA to meet Mr. Gordon. www.if.net/contests/Acting/1342361The main page is a rather nice intro by Mr. Gordon, with no spoilers. Clicking on the links, however, *will* get you the instructions to enter, as well as submitted auditions you can vote for. The contest ends 5/26/2009. If you don't want to enter, but do want to read the script and/or see the auditions, I have them in the spoiler section: reaperdmv.com/index.cgi?board=spoilers&action=display&thread=63&page=1#6141Use the password "broken circle" to view them.

Interesting summary at SciFiWire (Sci-Fi channel) 11 Sci Fi TV Shows that might get cancelled. Seems like we can band together with other like-minded small fandoms. Several shows there I watch of course.

Someone is doing a blogtalk radio--um--session where they'll talk about Reaper (also Dollhouse, Castle, Medium). 4/28/09, 7 pm but I don't know what time zone. Plus I don't know what a blogspotradio is. Still, I had them send a reminder to my email. I'll give it a try.

Zap2It has a pretty good recap of the latest ep, and a POLL so please go vote. It's a pretty good one, we might want to do something similar here. What's the most likely end to the season? __Sam gets out of his contract __Sam learns the other part of Alan's secret __Sam learns his true parentage __Sam gets sent to Hell Also, in the comments there's a pretty funny thing someone wrote, a supposed discussion with network execs wanting more "relationship" stuff in the show. Worth checking out.

That's actually almost a complete plagiarism of a recent EW! article. And I seriously doubt the socks had a damn thing to do with renewal, considering I also doubt very many people sent them in.

RE: Keep it or Kill It--you have to click through, and Reaper is on the last page #28. The voting is running close, so vote! I also voted for Better Off Ted, Castle, The Unusuals, and Dollhouse. Yes the only other shows I watch are also on that list. I never heard of several of them. And for some of you, I voted for Sarah Connor Terminator, Life, and Medium. Sigh. RE: the TWoP piece, still, it's good for people to think those campaigns make a difference if it inspires people to participate, keep watching, letter-writing, etc. ETA: It looks like you can also use this link to vote directly for Reaper, I'm pretty sure it's the same poll. poll.fm/xg6f

So maybe it's just me, but this will never not be funny. Translation from English, to another language, back to English, an article about Reaper and other bubble shows. "It angers me beyond fastness that valid shows (see above) are being canceled while the extravagant hacks that are the creators, producers and writers of that underhanded, underhanded picayune put on direct to not at worst prohibit b keep out in their jobs (I’d be undergoing fired them eat one’s heart incorrect, eat one’s heart incorrect ago) but actually suck the flair from other shows." Oh, I just found the original source, Callandor at LJ, and it's really good. But you can see why the translation went awry.

The complete moron Marc Berman @ MediaWeek: Whatever dude. I left a comment pointing out that if you switched Reaper for Privileged, *then* maybe what he's saying would actually work. This article from Nikki Finke is saying NBC will renew Chuck, Medium, and L&O on Monday. She's kinda reliable. However, the article is really interesting due to this quote from a commentator: I'd love to know what site he visits.

I'm going to comment there, since I haven't seen anything from Reaper fans against Chuck, even though a lot of writers do compare the two shows. Whenever I post anywhere there is such controversy I always try to say something like "It's not a competition" or "We should be supporting each others' shows!" since last year we were on the other side with Supernatural fans attacking Reaper for some reason.
I don't get why it needs to be one show v. another, anyway. Especially since it seems like all the shows I watch are threatened, like usual.

I don't hate Chuck because I'm taking sides and support Reaper, I hate Chuck because it's a boring show. I would love to be a fan of both shows and I tried, I really did, I just find Chuck stupid and cartoony with no real suspense and predictable plots. And I don't care for Zach Levi (every time I look at him he reminds me of Greg Brady). But whether Reaper happens to click with me has nothing to do with that. Chocolate and vanilla I suppose.

Especially when the shows are on different networks. I can understand why people root for a bubble show on the same network to fail so the bubble show they like gets renewed. There are a finite amount of slots on a tv schedule and networks want to add new shows. That being said, denigrating another show is bad form. Unless it's American Idol, DwtS or any of the other 75 faux!reality/game shows that get boffo ratings for reasons that simply escape me.

Another little poll at the dreaded CW Source, which I still think is a worthwhile place to vote and post. In case you need time to think about your vote, here is the poll: Would you let your significant other seduce another in the Devil's name? __Hell no! __Of course! How else can we be together in the long run? __I wouldn't date the spawn of Satan no matter how cute. The first option is winning, which is crazy in my opinion!

I don't know what this site is, because I didn't look around, but there are posted screencaps of the Shirtless Morgan at breakfast scene at Groopii. "I'd like to propose a dress code for the breakfast table"--not me!

Another silly little poll at the CW Source which I keep thinking is worth it to vote at, just to get the numbers up since they are semi-linked to the CW. Unofficially, I know.
