She loves the comedy but she feels like a lot of the time the characters are sooo stupid, it can be hard to watch without getting totally frustrated. Of course, characters that are more stupid than they are account for about 90% of all TV, but I refrained from the urge to go all "No, you're a stupidhead!" Yeah, I had that problem with Rebellion. And yay! New forced recruit! I think the Devil would dig that. ;D

Probably not the right place for this, but just had to share this. I have Direct TV and they have a two week scheduling guide. For the first time tonight, Reaper shows up on the schedule. Nice to see it actually in print.

Ooh, there's a possibility of there being a big article in Tv Guide for this week. Judging by their past support, I wouldn't doubt it. So here's hoping we get some coverage in the new issue, thus ensuring more viewers.

That'd be great, random, report back if it comes out. The more the better, as always!

So I don't know if I can explain this, but on Twitter there is a convention called hashtags, which are like tags, that people put in their tweets so their tweets can be found by other like-minded souls. So, #reaper. Here's the "search page" for #reaper. If you're on Twitter, hashtag reaper! And find some people here to follow. If you're not on Twitter, this will either encourage or discourage you. I haven't made up my mind yet. But I see Craig (kryptonsite) is doing a great job of promoting, and Damien (deemanuk) is there. Not to mention Missy and maybe others. Oh , and me, somewhat.

That crazy huge LJ comm, OhNoTheyDidn't ran this post from tv.com about which shows might get cancelled; just someone's opinion, but Reaper is on it. What's interesting is the comments, nine pages of them. Randomly scattered are quite a few pro-Reaper ones. I'm trying to reply with links to reaperdmv and reaper_tv and the email campaign, but they kinda frown on links to other comms, so we'll see what happens. If you need some casual online reading, and a look at some wild icons btw, you might want to skim through! Gotta join to comment, I think, which explains why my f-list is so monstrous and I keep bringing random celeb things over here to post. I'm a little hooked on it, actually.

Can't do much about other people's opinions unfortunately, though I'm with you, I hate to see people trash the show undeservedly.

I'm trying to reply with links to reaperdmv and reaper_tv and the email campaign, but they kinda frown on links to other comms, so we'll see what happens. Why don't you just post the direct link to the campaign? community.livejournal.com/reaperdmv/19127.html<a href="http://tvdramas.about.com/b/2009/03/25/the-devil-made-them-do-it-reaper-fans-begin-campaigning.htm">The Devil Made Them Do It: Reaper fans begin campaigning</a> Edited to change link I didn't really see anyone "trashing" it, not even in the original article. Cko's right, culling through all the positive posts might get us more people to join the campaign.

Well actually the pleasant surprise is there are a lot of positive "I love Reaper!" "Don't cancel Reaper!" "Sock rules!" "How can we save this show?" posts from, again, random people. Which is why I'm trying to reply linking the email campaign and news blog. I keep meaning to post an adorable pic of Bret there, since that seems to be the point of the whole site. It's got to be something new, and not an episode/show promo pic, according to the fairly extensive comm rules.
Whew. And to think last year I thought it was weird that I was voting for Reaper in online polls.

Just wanted to bump this to see if anyone has an opinion. We could start a campaign on it if we wanted.

I like that idea, Blue, but not sure what the campaign would be, lobbying the CW to join with DTV or other? Anyway, I've had my first experience posting at the wild and wacky OhNoTheyDidn't, with its 50,000 members, promoting Bret's birthday and the email campaign. Within minutes I got 12 comments. Whew. Check it out: community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/33882451.htmlMy favorite so far is: "He's a lot older than I thought he was." Lotta fans over there, fun to see. ETA: Also haters, so blur your eyes.

Hmm, good try ck. I'm surprised by the negative reaction. Bret seems so harmless to me. I didn't think most people even had an opinion either way.

ONTD supports a high density of people relentlessly opinionated about trivial issues. It's kinda their shtick.

Yeah, but with so many viewers, it's bound to get a mix, and frankly, the density seems a better bet than individual posting on random people's blogs who happen to mention Reaper and we're the only ones reading. Though I will keep doing that, too!
It's killing my email account though. I've never had such a "popular" post!
It's all just crazy experimentation, anyway, right?

TV Guide's email: feedback@tvguide.com Also, Series Finale was nice enough to write up a Campaign article (with a cool button no less), and they started a petition. It's up to 9 pages already. It would be nice if we could start getting the word out about it. tvseriesfinale.com/articles/reaper-tv-show-support/tvseriesfinale.com/articles/reaper-petition/And an anonymous friend suggested the following: Be creative with your letter. Even if it's just using an over-sized envelope. The crazier the better, it'll make a buzz around the network. Write SAVE THE REAPER on the outside! Share your creative ideas and lets get it going.

ABC Studios, which produces Reaper, is looking for more members for its Advisory Panel. It's a basically a forum, but as a member you have access to extras that they do. The gave a sneak peek of the Reaper Premiere, and currently have activities on the October Road DVD and Legend of the Seeker. They are looking for more people for their under-represented boards, of which Reaper is one. You do need to qualify, and if accepted need to answer some statistics information, but after that you're done. You have full access to the board. If more Reaper lovers join, we can post and represent our show. Maybe we can make a goal of posting once a week or more, just to show we're out there. But hey ~ don't limit yourself to Reaper, they've got tons of other shows too - including Life on Mars, Castle, and Brothers and Sisters. abcstudios.brand-advisor.com/external.svc?page=qualification&qualification_ticket=RAF

I know these are silly but you never know. I was promoting Reaper on my Status Updates and a distant friend told me she'd seen it and started watching the show. (This is while we were texting each other across a huge arena waiting for Bruce Springsteen! I love my life!) Anyway, you all know that annoying yet strangely fun thing: Five Whatevers (cars, TV shows, Celebrity Crushes). There's one called Top 5 Websites You Visit. I made an entry for Reaper DMV! Try it! And...full disclosure time, I also chose TWoP. For the Buffy Meet Market, y'know.

Yeah that really went off the rails, didn't it? You never know, it has been a good opportunity in the past, we did get a little positive action out of the previous posts; I was going back and forth with a few people about the petition etc.
But it's just a little too wild/unmoderated all of a sudden. I only joined to promote the show, then I admit I got a bit interested. Now the noise to value ratio is way off, and it's spamming my email, so I'm gonna unjoin.
