I quit on Heroes. Just couldn't take it anymore. Every episode pissed me off worse than Lost.

Damn, pace, hate to show this on this happy night (I hope) but Life On Mars cancelled? I didn't follow the link to Ausiello to confirm. Sad.

How I Met Your Mother was pretty terrible last night. The writers keep thinking that Barney needs all of this screen time and its just pissing me off. And when they write the entire episode around him, I'm like, "why am I watching this". That's really my only gripe. This season has been pretty strong though, but this episode and the second one were just horrible to the extreme. Ratings have been great so far, so thats something to be happy about...

Yeah, I knew that about Life on Mars. Can't say I'm surprised. The good news is they're finally releasing the UK series on DVD in the states. Series one (or two) comes out this July. I highly recommend that to anyone who hasn't seen it. BAFTA and International Emmy award winner.
Thanks for saying that random because I thought it was just me. I adore Barney but I hated this episode. He's getting overexposed and for what's essentially a one note sidekick character, that can't be good. I never thought I'd say this but I'm starting to miss Ted's stories about meeting "the mother". It's losing focus, everyone seemed off this week.

Battlestar Galactica is falling toward the series conclusion; two more episodes left! (Though apparently the finale is several hours long??) My sister keeps talking about marathon rewatching from the very beginning to remember what the frak is going on, but I'm totally zenning it, because I have no clue. Just along for the ride. Per pending's comment over in Notable Guest Stars, about that linked article 10 Hottest Non-Human TV Women (or whatever), my dad said something hilarious, which only you watchers will get, and I don't think will spoil for you non-watchers. Okay, we're what, 4-5 years in, two eps from the end, watching a scene with Grace Park, and he says, "Damn, the Asian women in this show look TOO MUCH ALIKE. You can't tell them apart! Bah!" and closes his eyes and goes to sleep. Uhhhh. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

To be honest I'm ready for BSG to end. This season has been so depressing I'm having a hard time getting through the final eps.

I watched Chuck for the first time tonight so I could see how it compares to Reaper. I thought Chuck wasn't as likable or as sweet as Sam is. I found myself wishing that Sam has as many people trying to help him as Chuck has especially the older sister. I loved Sarah and I wished she had left with the hot agent who liked her.

kathyk, I agree, I like the character of the sister, even though I hated that actress on Everwood. Buttt I don't think she should leave Captain Awesome! ck! Summer Glau was a guest on Big Bang Theory tonight and they made a Firefly reference! I'm geeking out. What, what??!! Oh I wish I could find that online. Was it anything to do with her Terminator role? A fanboy thing? I'm going to find it somewhere. ETA: Oh, kathy, I get it, Sarah. Love her too! And Castle was much much better than I expected. Nathan's charm and gravity actually come through even though his character could be an annoying superficial skirt-chaser. I think the mystery writer premise could work in conjunction with the cop procedural. I'll keep watching.

I agree about Castle. I'll probably keep watching it because of the actors. They've got that spark that makes you want to watch them, regardless of the role...especially N.F. They have good chemistry.

Yeah there was loads of talk about Terminator of course since that's what she's known for now, but I was impressed they mentioned Firefly too. Basically the boys are on a train and she's on the train (playing herself) and they take turns trying to hit on her to hilarious effect.

ABC is a stupid network. I taped CSI NY in order to watch Life on Mars what a great show that is. I loved it. ABC was stupid to schedule it against CSI NY and Law and Order. I'll have to catch Life on Mars on DVD.

Wow, Jon Stewart takes on Jim Cramer! Yes, definitely worth it, kinda serious but also funny. New link to it. Okay, so Dollhouse. I can't watch it "live" (conflicts with BSG) and it took me all week to watch it online, so that right there is not a good sign. I just don't know what to make of that show. I find myself trying hard to like it. After it's over I feel ticked off. Then I read recaps and comments, and I grudgingly start to like it again. I don't know yet if it's going to be worth it. Two crossroads: the much-touted 6th episode, which is when the show is supposed to get more Joss-like and awesome (according to both Joss and Eliza); and the Alpha reveal, since Alan Tudyk can make any show better. Maybe. Anyone else here (still) watching this show? And, good point from Bol at Buffy TWoP:

That comment makes me want to give Castle a chance. Hmm...it's on ABC...does that mean all the eps are online? I may give it a try.

Wow, Jon Stewart takes on Jim Cramer! Yes, definitely worth it, kinda serious but also funny. New link to it. I am amazed that a guy who prefers to be doing fart jokes is what ended up taking down an entire cable news station. Almost all the reviews I've seen are "We finally see REAL journalism, and it ends up it's the comedian doing it". And heh, BuzzSugar:

So, I figured out one thing about Dollhouse. The stories of the week--it's a cool idea that they can send the Dolls into wildly different situations each week: one week bodyguarding/back-up singing for a rock star, this week infiltrating a religious cult. BUT, the problem is, I just don't give a damn about any of the SOTW stories because you know they aren't going anywhere.
They've done a nice job of throwing a twist into each of the storylines, but it's just not quite enough. I'm gonna give it a few more episodes, then I'm afraid I might bail out.
Speaking of bailing out, Battlestar Galactica has just one more, two-hour finale next week. Long strange trip. No idea how the heck they're going to wrap it up. Blaze of glory, that's what I'm predicting.

I can figure out BSG either but I'm ever so slightly let down by it and mentally I already feel like it's over so I've stopped caring.
I'm still sticking with Dollhouse because I keep hearing the best is yet to come. I'm still not impressed with Eliza's acting but I'm finding the Dollhouse mystery intriguing.

Ditto on the BSG again, pace. I'll be glad when it's over. And don't ask where I come up with these things, but I couldn't resist. For pending and maybe others: Where are they now, 7th Heaven. One of them is dating Justin Timberlake.

New show, on after Scrubs: Better Off Ted, about a guy that works in a quirky office setting for a corporation where they make stuff. Maybe this vid will give you an idea. It's silly, but in a rather unique way, and it has Portia de Rossi, the woman I love, so I think I'll give it a chance.
Oh, and I'm still liking Castle. Nice charm, decent script, light and snappy.

(Flexes fingers) Okay, gearing up for the Battlestar Galactica series finale. 2 hours and 11 minutes. I'll be back, if I survive. Even if the human race doesn't. Later: Well, we survive. And Jimi Hendrix. But as darkpool said over at Facebook: "Human, Cylons, and frakkin' Angels? ?" Me, I like the irony. Got more to say on this, but have posted it in a few other places, so I guess I won't repeat myself. I'm on Page 37 of the Ep Thread at TWoP, pace, if you're interested. What did you think?

Hooray, I hope that Dollhouse is getting good now that BSG is gone. Just watched the much-vaunted (I think that's a word) Episode 6 (though I swear I can't remember seeing a full five before) and it was fantastic! Lots of twists, and a real turn on the moral ambiguity. The person-on-the-street interviews brought a lightness that the show has been missing. Now I'm really curious what's going to happen next.
And he may not be the brightest bulb, but Tahmoh Penikett shirtless is...yeah.

I loved it too. I hope they stay at that level now and not go back to Echo's assignment of the week episodes. I'm really into the whole Dollhouse mythology and I want to know who the mole is.

Apparently the news is getting better for Dollhouse. Ratings were up slightly after this last episode aired and the show is now performing better than the terminated Terminator. Seems the show is doing just what Fox had hoped by putting it on Fridays and that is building an audience slowly. The show actually came in number three this week ahead of NBC's FNL.
I think if the show can achieve and maintain a solid 4.5+ million it has a good shot.
And turns out the big BSG series finale got its highest ratings ever which were about 2.4 million. Ironic since that's about average for what Reaper was doing last season and it was considered a failure. BSG (a high quality acclaimed show) survived four excellent seasons with ratings of about 1.5 million just by being on sci-fi. The network makes all the difference.

Thanks fof the news, pace! Hope Dollhouse does continue to make it. Even with its flaws, it's still intriguing enough. And it's so true about BSG not needing a very large audience to be considered a hit on Sci-Fi. Well, considering the other shows on there, it's not too surprising.
And I'm stilll enjoying Castle and the light-hearted whodunit tone, though--and this isn't usually a "thing" for me, but--I'm worried that the unrealistic approach to the basic rights of witnesses/suspects might start to bug.
