I would include what I wrote, but I cannot imagine that you folks are interested in things like age, purchase habits, and income brackets like the advertising guys are. You'd be surprised at what we're interested in, dto2c, check out the Life In Hell thread here to see that we can talk about stuff other than Reaper. Glad you're here, and part of the campaign, no matter how many secrets you have!

I followed up with Tim Goodman and got this reply. Sigh. I'd already emailed him about the Tyler and the Michele/Tara situation, but anyway. I'll try again. And I flattered him so much, too.
Hey, just one guy's opinion.

Do you think ABC could come to a decision today?

Dunno, awesomereaperfan. Hope so!
And we are *still* getting positive responses, so keep writing guys! Jerry said I could put this up:
Thank you for your note. It does seem like the production company behind the show is trying to revive it for weekend syndication. If they are successful in launching it, we will support it with a time period here in Philadelphia. At this point, we are waiting on word from them. Thanks- CWPHILLY

I got a response back from Ms. Acosta. I'm not going to put it up, since it's a bit personal, but just let me say that writing to your local newspaper reporter *can* help. She was grateful I let her know about what was going on. I will put her first letter up though: She's a massive Reaper fan.

^^ From Nick: nickctv.wordpress.com/2009/05/29/reaper-fans-email-spike-tv REAPER Fans: Email SPIKE & SCI-FI (Or is ABC Trying To Double Dip?)
Just trust me on this, spam them today. Well not with spam, but legit “please pick up REAPER if you can,” emails. Mention your age and cable provider.
Update: Ok, from what I’m hearing the CW affiliates are interested but there has been no formal offer as yet. Why? Well it appears the guys and gals over at Alphabet Studios are trying to sell the show’s previous 2 seasons into syndication first. Why? Well it appears they are trying to pull what was pulled on USA with BONES: repeats + repeat of new show that aired only weeks earlier. The targets of that syndication deal are SPIKE & SCI-FI. Once they have that deal in place, the affiliates will get their offer.
So the good news is that fans of REAPER who don’t live in an area with an affiliate that picks it up will get the opportunity to catch it on cable shortly after the original airing. It’s not a bad business plan, and is likely what it would take to keep the show under its present budget.SPIKE TV Show Support: spiketv@spiketv.com spike-feedback@spike.com SCIFI (SyFy): feedback@scifi.com

I wonder if someone saw me wibbling over the possibility of my CW affiliate not picking the show up. This is a great solution. I sent off my e-mails.

sent 3 emails to all the addresses you posted so hopefully something happens within the next few days. that's great to hear though, thus far we've heard nothing but positive news about the syndication deal.

I know that we are in the middle of this heated effort to get the show syndicated, but I did want to throw out one suggestion (before I forget it) for later consideration, if this actually happens. I think we should try to get to the person or people at ABC Studios responsible for the show and suggest that they establish some conduit for the fans to funnel ideas for the show, so that we don't end up with a repeat of the mistakes from Season 2. We all write about what we like (the mythology, Sam and the devil scenes, etc.) and don't like (Kristen subplot, the lack of tieing up loose storylines, etc.) and I think it would help the creators and writers to know what we want to see (i.e. two, or more, heads are better than one). After all, it's us that are keeping the show on the air. What do you think?

In my e-mails to Spike and SciFi, I mentioned that Reaper's rerun audience was usually much better than all the other shows on the CW last year (50% to 70% audience retention from original broadcast). That contrasts with, for example, Smallville's rating of 1.4 million vs their first run average of about 3.4 million (or only about 40% of original audience). It might be good to mention this in your e-mail, since we are talking about these networks basically showing reruns of episodes.

Hey, guys, do you have a bullet point list somewhere of good stuff to mention in letters and emails? Because I totally neglected to mention my demographic (which is totally the female 18-49 one that I heard TV stations really want, is that right?) in my letters. A list would be a handy guide for people while they still word things out in their own words.

blue, pace, or wdpender really should do this because I am very unthorough; go ahead and add to this if you want.
--Age and gender --Cable provider --Geographical location (especially if to local affiliate, but I'd think either way?) --Others in household, demographics. I included household income.
This may be "extra" for most people, but I include: --What I know about the popularity of the show, the fandom. --Fan groups at facebook, myspace, Twitter --Petition at seriesfinale (http://tvseriesfinale.com/articles/reaper-petition/) has almost 3,500 signatures.
From wd, about reruns, since the Spike/SciFi deals would be for reruns: --Reaper's rerun audience was usually much better that the other shows on CW last year (50% to 70% audience retention from original broadcast). That contrasts with, for example, Smallville's rating of 1.4 million vs their first run average of about 3.4 million (or only about 40% of original audience).
What else?

argh! i dont kno what u should put in the ltters, im just using your guys ideas...i did that petition thing and the number is racing! While the online petition is nice, it's more important at this point to write in to your local station, ABC Studios, SpikeTV, and SciFi. You can always refer to the petition in your email.

^^^And on that note, I got this comment in response to Nick's suggestion that we start local petitions upon which we put our names and addresses. I asked him if city or zipcode was okay, since this seemed like a privacy issue - putting our personal info on an internet website: So, what I am thinking is NON-online petitions. Now, I'm not saying "yo - go stand on a corner and badger people to sign a petition they'll watch Reaper", but more a PERSONAL one. If you watch with your friends, families, and/or coworkers - have you all sign a petition on paper and send it in to your affiliate and Tribune/Sinclair, and wherever else you want. For example, cko watches with her dad and brother, so that's 3 people, when probably only cko has written in - thereby only looking like one Reaper fan in her area. That way, you can keep your private info private, but still get across to the stations who exactly is writing them that's actually IN their area (and yes, this includes you too, international fans - write your own station). Plus, it's snail mail so bonus! www.gopetition.com/howtowriteapetition.phpI would also recommend taking some of Trevor's language from the TVSerieFinale: tvseriesfinale.com/articles/reaper-petition/DO NOT forget your address, age, M/F, and signature. This includes any kids in your household that watch as well. And make sure you include this info if you are sticking to email as well.Unless someone gets to this before me (hint hint), I'll try and work on suggestions on how to word your petition later tonight.
