Thanks, dudes!
I do win. I'm glad that came across right off the bat, instead of, uh, how it usually does. Two days later when I explain it and everyone looks at me disbelievingly. FINALLY I HAVE LEARNED TO COMMUNICATE.
Next thing you know I'll be talking in full sentences and everything.
It's Photoshop, with a wacom tablet!

I can draw on the computer with a mouse... just takes me a lot of time to erase the extra lines, ect.
My real problem is coloring stuff in... I can't color in things if my life depended on it... y'know, unless it's just the bucket-fill tool, that's just easy. Shading, ect... I leave that for pencils!

I think you just about captured the look of Sam, oym. The only little thing that's off there, I think, is the size of the ears. They seem especially big in the drawing, but on the show his ears don't stand out as far as I remember...
Anyway, I tried looking at the drawing with my fingers over the ears, and then it was like "Yes! That looks exactly like him!"

The death of my not-so-trusty laptop a few months ago sadly also led to the untimely demise of my trusty old copy of Photoshop 7.0, which served me bravely for six or seven years. And unlike the laptop, which I could afford to replace, Photoshop is the price of like three laptops. So fuck that. (Does anyone know if Elements actually stands up at all? I mainly want a smudge tool that renders quickly, and a Levels adjustment.) In the meantime I am trying to figure out the cheapo free programs people recommended to me all those years. Right now I'm on OpenCanvas, which I've seen people do amazing shit but I am struggling with it. Sam Oliver! He's probably not evil. Probably. (Although since when were "whitebread" and "evil" mutually exclusive, Miss Nina?)

Wow. Gosh you made him handsomer than he is in real life. You picked up on something I've been noticing this season--he's looking suddenly older. Which is good, to me; I like it. Makes him seem smarter, somehow, and more determined.
Here he looks determined and dreamy. And angelic. It's lovely.
I know nothing of drawing programs, of course, but I'll ask around.

IIRC, elements will give you smudge tool and levels. You don't get CMYK or 16 bit files (and I'm sure there are also a bunch of other stuff like ability to manipulate 3D stuff in the latest Photoshop that you don't get with Elements). On the upside, it does seem to come with more presets. I haven't used elements for a long time, though. The last time I used it, it wasn't the current version, either, so. Maybe you can try the free trial before you buy? www.adobe.com/products/photoshopelwin/I've heard a lot of good things about GIMP. From what I've heard it's a free program that does a lot of the stuff photoshop does, and very well. I don't have experience with it first hand, so I can't say for sure. But it doesn't cost anything, so why not give it a try? www.gimp.org/

I have a very old version of Adobe Illustrator. Never figured out how to use it but I guess you could really take advantage of it, those drawings are really good!
Please send me a message if you want that CD.
