Okay, so there are these guys that do Reaper Podcasts. They're funny, but they're long. I'm at 15 minutes so far with this one. I'm trying to contact them, because we have more updated information than they do, and they're linked up with ReaperSite. Maybe we can get something going like that here. Episode 3: Reaper Ramblings. Heh! They're dissing Gossip Girl.

Coincidence? Perhaps, but doubtful. No but were excited to be a part of this. We appreciate everyone who takes the time to check out the podcast and would appreciate any suggestions for improvement or episode ideas as we anxiously await season 2.

Oh, we didn't mean they shouldn't keep it, we just meant they should give Reaper more credit and publicity since it obviously deserves it. That's our main gripe with them. We know that show isn't going anywhere, they'd be stupid to cancel it. All we meant was Reaper deserves a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Anyway, thanks for listening and keep up the good work on the boards.

I'll post on your site, too, but the reapercast was great! I loved the song, and how you weave in news, themes, and your various opinions. Thanks also for mentioning Reaper DMV.

Episode 5 is out. We had a long week, but we finally got it done. Maybe next week won't be quite so crappy. Haha. There's also a new poll up on the web site so you can vote on the character you want us to talk about next. Episode 5: S.A.M The Bounty Hunteredited to add link to reapercast

...has a lot of news and views I agree with! Loved the critique of the DVD box art, which we've been complaining about since we saw it. I did a review at iTunes, too. (I would have posted a copy here but now I can't find it.) Nice mention of ReaperDMV; thanks for that!

THAT'S THE REAPER SONG? ? How did I not realize that? Oh man, that was all kinds of AWESOME. I would argue about the hope that the show is starting in November (that would suck - December in particular is the worst viewed month and we need viewers!) but seriously? The podcast was too AWESOME. More cowbell! sucks about zune though hope it gets fixed

Listening now to the news about air schedule. So if the show airs from November to February straight through, assuming no reruns or breaks, it would look like this:
Smallvile would run its ten from Sept 18-Nov 20. Unfortunately, though, the following thursday is Thanksgiving. That would be suicide to premiere the season on Thanksgiving day. So assuming Reaper would start December 4, 13 episodes would put it at February 26 (and that assumes one new episode airing Christmas Day and one New Year's Day. Unfortunately the winter holidays are Thursdays this year. If they skip Christmas only, the 13 would run through March 5). Then Smallville would come back with its final run of 11 episodes taking it to May 21.
Looks like no room for more than 13 episodes this season and an uphill battle to perform with an air run of December, January, February and a Thursday night time slot coinciding with Thanksgiving, Christmas AND New Year's. Talk about bad luck. If it holds its own, we'll be looking at a full third season in Smallville's place.

If S2 Reaper airs in December, then there go any hopes for a third season.

I don't think so. It can still pull the same numbers as last year when it was barely promoted, took a long hiatus and moved around from night to night. As long as it maintains, the network needs another sci-fi/fantasy show to put next to Supernatural. It doesn't have anything else and it acknowledges that this show at least has a cult following.

Viewership plummets in December because no one is home due to shopping, parties, traveling, etc. Even people who regularly view live will move to DVR or online streaming. Reaper's Live numbers won't hold steady at it's S1 numbers, simply because December is too busy of a month for even hardcore fans to sit down and watch live consistently every week.

Do keep in mind that February sweeps wont be happening. They've been pushed to March, because of the digital transfer. Also keep in mind, that so far, CW ratings are up! Gossip Girl just got series highs, OTH got its highest numbers in 2 years, same with Supernatural. Smallville is still holding steady as the number one show, so...Reaper could end up benefitting as well...

It's good to see the CW improving. I still maintain that they need Reaper for next year, so a third season seems way more likely than a second season did.

That's good news. Lord knows we don't need the CW to tank with just one season under our belt. A third season would be awesome, but we've still got a pretty good while till Season 2 arrives. I do agree with you that the network needs Reaper for next year, but whether they realize that or not remains to be seen. I guess it depends on how the ratings go for next season. Who knows, if enough people watch Season 2 maybe they'll use the right logo on the S2 DVD Box Art. Sorry, I'm still a little confused/irritated about that.

Do keep in mind that February sweeps wont be happening. Which again, doesn't help Reaper at all since all it means is that Reaper will continue to be shown in the least viewed months of the year. And I doubt the CW will give Reaper the benefit of the ratings doubt like it did last year due to the writer's strike. It's either got to perform, or it will most likely be out. The CW isn't going to waste its time fanwanking why they ratings aren't up there.
