Last night I saw Stella, Michael Ian Black's comedy troupe. I have no idea how to describe them or review the show. It was just three guys in suits and ties, holding microphones, and bantering. Really dirty and smart bantering. They showed a few sketch videos, heckled audience mem-bers, and were quite silly. At the beginning some guy came on stage to talk to MIB ("rem-ember me? I saw you at your last show!" etc etc.) They made fun of him, he was escorted off, and MIB looked at us and said, "So. That happened." Oh, and Michael is amaaaaaazingly sexy, which of course you cannot tell from my customary blurry "But don't you feel like you are there?" iPhone photos:

Are they funny? I've never seen them, but they have a DVD on their web site. I don't get it, is it a sitcom or a stand up act?

It's definitely stand up. Because that's what they do, stand there. It's funny in a silly snarky way. But I wouldn't say it is hilarious. Of course, I was stone-cold sober, and given that it was a college crowd I doubt anyone else was. So, it was going over great. Not sure that helps. I don't think I'd necessarily jump at the DVD.

Don't judge me, but when it was already partway through, I started watching some hokey holiday movie on ION called "The Christmas Clause." It became heaps more interesting when I suddenly saw that Andrew Airlie (aka Sam's dad) was in it. Heh.

Speaking of Ken Marino, I just saw him an old first season episode of Angel. More Whedon/Reaper crossovers then.

Ah, pace, the basis of the little slide show I did of the scene between Ken's character and Angel, based on something Blue found where people were speculating on Steve the Demon v. Angel. Yeah, I know that sounds weird. Hated that episode, by the way; the demon-spawn storyline was pretty ewww. Ken was great as the fake-sensitive single-photographer-about-town, though. (Format on the slide show is effed-up, but Ken looks good in the pics.)

Oh looks like I'm late to the party then. The episode was no big deal, but he looked good.

So I recorded BSG tonight on Scifi and I noticed they were also airing Star Trek: TNG which I love so I thought okay and I recorded that too. I'm watching it tonight (an episode called Who Watches the Watchers from the third season) and I'm thinking this heavily made-up proto-Vulcan character looks and sounds an awful lot like Ray Wise. Sure enough. That was him. Funny coincidence that this was the episode I caught, I never watch the show these days.

Yes! I have seen pictures of him in that episode, and they absolutely killed me.

I heard Michael Ian Black on NPR today about his new show, with a friend of his, also named Michael. They were hilarious.

There are 2 films coming up with J. Wade, both of them in december. "Brothers" and "The Strip". The second one doesn't have a release date yet (but it should be in december according to the director).

I tried watching that show, but found it painfully boring after the first 10-15 minutes. That was still long enough for me to see Andrew Airlie on there, though, which was such a shock since 1) I wasn't expecting it, and 2) he wasn't in zombie makeup. XD

The Dead Like Me movie featuring Christine Willes will be on Scifi on Sunday from 9 until 11 pm Christine is Delores Herbig and she's great.

I didn't see the movie, but I'm loving Season One of Dead Like Me. Christine Willes plays the most awesome and funny character, totally different from Gladys (except for her love of cats!) and it's a different take on reapers than our beloved show. I highly recommend checking it out, it's good fun with some dark, and some philosophical, elements.

I knew you would love Dead Like Me. I thought Delores and Gladys were alike. Both of them were lonely Delores was more humorous than Gladys, I though Reaper missed a golden opportunity by not having stars of DLM on the show.
