*sigh*  I finished, and I was really excited, but I hit a snag. Turns out the trial software I was giving a whirl had one last surprise: unless I buy it, it stamps a big ugly watermark right on top. No way am I paying $40 for the clumsy editing it offers, so suck it, AVS Video Editor, I'll just do the video over. Meanwhile though, take a look and offer suggestions. Ignore the foreign language subtitles, and shots of the back of Not Missy!Andi's head. And ignore the watermark. Seriously, AVS Video editor sucks outloud. |

Holy crap, Pending, that's awesome. Love the part with the guitar and the hell hounds from the Pilot especially.
Also, the subtitling for The Cop where "Super Cop" translates into "supersnut" in... Swedish?

Whoa.
I loved the parts with Sam's mom, and the barking dog was PERFECT.
My only suggestion would be to not let the dialogue scenes go on for so long without cuts. Otherwise, I'm distracted from the song because I'm trying to remember what they said when it aired.

That's a combination of laziness and the crappy software; I had to work with big chunks, then move them where I wanted then cut them apart, and all too often I was all "This is taking FOREVER. I'm just leaving it." Hopefully it'll come out in the wash.

Yeah, it's good, but I agree with Blue that some scenes went on too long and the overall song is a bit long to hold interest without a lot of beat use and fast cuts. That's something that improves with experience though, the more vids you do, and I hear you about the crappy software. Folks I know use Vegas I think, and even WMM makes half decent vids.

I sulked for a little while after that, because that was exactly what I was afraid was the vid's biggest problem, and maybe more difficult to fix. I really, REALLY miss having access to Adobe's editing software, because they make matching cuts to beats child's play. Everybody else is guess and check.
I started out with WMM, but tried something else because it split the episodes up into clips itself. I'll definitely check out Vegas though. If I hit any success trying out freeware, I'll be sure to post it here so other people can share the wealth.

The song definitely lent a direful aspect to the whole thing; a few of the scenes (hellhounds) were in that other vid more played for laughs, and had a totally different feel. And, I was amazed I didn't recognize a lot of the scenes, so it had its shocking moments. I don't have anything to offer on the technical issues but like this so far.
