Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Oh, your God! I'm in Heaven! Thank you, cko! "Futurama" is right up there with "Reaper" for me, and you've made my (and my best friend's) day!

Yay! Ashs, and welcome.
By the way, if anyone knows of shows that got a second life, and any background on how they did it, we'd love to see it. Apparently it happens more often than I thought.

Family Guy was also axed for a while but DVDs + Adult Swim brought it back from the dead. Also, Jericho was cancelled after season1 initially but got 8 more episodes and movie b/c of fan support. It's not over guys, not by along shot. A good strategy might be finding a network that can get reruns out to people that haven't seen the show. Comedy Central would be nice.

This isn't really good news for our cause, but interesting: "Earl" producers nix move to cableBy Nellie Andreeva Fri Jun 12, 12:42 PM PDT "My Name Is Earl" is not getting a second chance after all. Cable network TBS had expressed interest in continuing the canceled NBC series with new episodes. But producing studio 20th Century Fox TV and creator/executive producer Greg Garcia have opted not to move forward after examining all the cuts they would have to make in order to produce the series on a smaller budget.

On the bright side, after being canceled for 6 years, Futurama is back this fall.

Not exactly sure if it fits but "Cupid" got a remake after 10 or so years. Basically restarted the whole show with new cast. Doesn't look it will make it this time either, though

We should really consider a mass emailing for adult swim to air Reaper, couldn't hurt.

I still think Comedy Central would be a better fit, but Adult Swim might work.

Well it just seem AS has less....strict guidelines on what it airs, to me it seems if they like the show they air it, as opposed to other networks.

Adult Swim does Clerks. Not to mention, if they keep the dick humor of Reaper, it'd probably be best later at night.

...friends at Twitter are campaigning for a resurrection of the cancelled series Life; they're promoting for USA Network, and think Reaper would pair well with that show. So, we're doing some cross-promotion! Please help them out by checking out these links, sign the petition, and whatever else. They're well organized! Website with lots of ideas: damianlewisweb.com/bringbacklife Dammit. That's what I want the Save Reaper Wiki to basically look like. And I didn't know about iReports. I'll write something up there. Sigh. I knew I should have checked in better these last two days. I just FINALLY had a FULL day off!!!!!!!!! And of course, today's Dad's day, so not much time to do anything today either. I'll talk to you guys about this later tonight. I can't really do the twitter thing, but I'll have the TV on at 7pm!

Interview with Joss Whedon at fearnet sort of says what I think we're working for, here. And he uses the word "monetization" which is always good with me. "A lot of people were convinced you would be cancelled after season 1. What do you think saved you? "The nature of the business is the nature of the fan base, and the nature of the fan base is that they are in it for the long haul. They are nurturing and intense about it, and they will see it through. The fans are still interested in my work years after it has gone off the air. Buffy still sells. Firefly still sells. That's a business thing for the studio. They are in it for the long haul. In the old system, these shows would have stopped generating income, but with the advent of DVD and the eventual monetization of online streaming, there is a market there that exists beyond your Nielsen numbers."

This isn't exactly a resurrection story, but it does provide great insight, as per the above, into the ratings issue in these times. By our very own Novium (whoo hoooo!) at NickC's new (?) blog. "Murky ratings give fans something to speculate over and fight against. In a world with perfect ratings, there’d be little room for quirky fan campaigns to save their favorite shows." Shout out!
