I can't quite make out what is in there...
Are those... vices? ("Vice" as in a mechanical screw apparatus used for holding or clamping a work piece to allow work to be performed on it. Not the morality kind.)
And did he buy a lamp and some duct tape? Or maybe that's a coffee maker and some coffee filters.

So was the Devil made that a person sent to hell actually thought he could charm the him the devil himself? Also I don't get why he was so unhappy with the misery he was causing because to him people acting like appalling unempathetic self centered jerks or worse is acceptable to him because he is the Lord of all Evil Villains.

It's mythology-ish, but I think the Devil mainly likes people causing misery and acting terrible because then he gets to make them suffer for it. So he doesn't really care all that much about what they do, as long as he gets them in the end... I think he particularly hated this guy because of the smugness, that he thought he was getting one up on the Devil, and he sortof was.
