I'm in Vancouver right now, and I think I saw the necklace Sam gave Andi. The store where I saw it might be exactly where the show got it from, since Reaper is shot in Vancouver.
Guess what store it was?
It was Daiso: an "everything for two (Canadian) dollars" type of store!
Wife present, eh?

Haha, bec, that's practically an inside scoop! Thanks for the intel from Vancouver. Hope you're enjoying it there. If you ever make it down to San Francisco on one of your Pacific Rim visits, let me know.

Hee! If I go there again I'll see if I can find one like the one on the show. They come in different "gem" sizes and colors. I only got a quick look, and the one I saw had a big honking ugly pink "gem" dangling from that "gold" ring thingy instead of the teeny tiny blue "gem" like the one on the show.

 !! thats really funny, but you never relly saw it up close close. Maybe thats why, i thought that why it still looked good on the show, still a if it was really chhep. Still its cool tha you saw a replica! |

I thought it looked kinda nice when I first saw it on the show, too. But then I paused it on a close-up shot and it's like "oh yeah, that is (two Canadian) dollar store jewelry." My friend with the eagle eye was like "Oh that is ugly" when I first showed her the ep (she didn't even need to pause), and that's when I first noticed the resemblance to Daiso jewelry. Hee. Upon closer inspection at Daiso, it looks like it's made of the same stuff. The gold-colored chain and ring thing, and there are similar looking plastic gems. But they don't have the exact same style. The ring thing is teardrop shaped instead of oval and the gems are bigger. I looked around at other stuff in the jewelry section and there are the same blue plastic gems on other stuff like earrings and etc. I think maybe Daiso and/or their supplier changed up their jewelry "styles" by now, but I wouldn't be surprised if it came from the same place, because the materials do look very close! When I get back to Hong Kong I can probably go to bead street and put together a replica for less than two Canadian dollars. Of course, my craftsmanship would be priceless  |
