So, what I am thinking is NON-online petitions...If you watch with your friends, families, and/or coworkers - have you all sign a petition on paper and send it in to your affiliate and Tribune/Sinclair, and wherever else you want. For example, cko watches with her dad and brother, so that's 3 people, when probably only cko has written in - thereby only looking like one Reaper fan in her area. That way, you can keep your private info private, but still get across to the stations who exactly is writing them that's actually IN their area (and yes, this includes you too, international fans - write your own station). Plus, it's snail mail so bonus! www.gopetition.com/howtowriteapetition.phpI would also recommend taking some of Trevor's language from the TVSerieFinale: tvseriesfinale.com/articles/reaper-petition/DO NOT forget your address, age, M/F, and signature. This includes any kids in your household that watch as well. And make sure you include this info if you are sticking to email as well.Per blue's blue's original post here, draft: To: ______
We, the undersigned, live in the ______ area, and have greatly enjoyed watching the Reaper TV show on ________ (your affiliate). It’s a very entertaining show that keeps us both laughing and on the edge of our seats at the same time. The acting is excellent and it is truly an original series and concept.
We understand that ABC Studios, who produces the show, is working with CW affilates, including the Tribune and Sinclair Broadcasting groups, to produce a third season of Reaper for affiliates to run on Sunday evenings.
We encourage ____ (your affiliate) to join in the deal to keep Reaper on the air for another season. We are devoted viewers in the _____ area who will continue to watch the program, encourage others to do the same, and will support the advertisers as well. Please keep Reaper on the air.
Thank you for your consideration.

^^^ Thanks, ck. You have no idea how much I appreciate that.
Also, got these comments on the LJ I thought I might share:
I told him if we're successful, we'd happily promote him/her here and at the LJ when the time comes.

jonnyspeight, and all fans outside of the USA, do not sell your efforts short. Anything you can do will aid in the overall effort. I'm sure that ABC Studios is taking into consideration the fact that Reaper is seen in at least 40 countries around the world (per wikipedia) when they are making this effort to continue the show in syndication. Those 40 countries are adding to the overall revenue which can potentially be earned by the series. And the more potential revenue they see, the better chances that the show will see a Season 3 (and beyond). Reaper fans outside of North America are making a definite contribution to the continued existence of Reaper, so keep those e-mails coming!!!

Overseas sales was one of the major reasons "Charmed" was kept around year after year, despite falling US ratings. You can send it to E4 if you want.

I haven't read the latest posts, so we might already know this. But I thought I'd post this right away so we can get cracking on it. This is the reply I got from Portland, Maine:Hi Bill, Thanks for taking the time to write us a note and share your ideas and thoughts. The only way we know what viewers want or think is when they contact us. Whether it's a compliment, a complaint or a question, we welcome any and all feedback. You are correct that Disney/ABC has committed to another season of Reaper, even though The CW network will not be airing the program. With The CW exiting Sunday night the affiliate stations have been put in a position to come up with their own programming. The first reaction to that scenario was MGM Studios contacting us and offering all CW affiliates the movie package that they had sold to The CW network. That package includes a number of James Bond, Rocky and Tom Hanks movies. Two of the largest broadcast groups in the country (Tribune and Sinclair) signed up for the movies on their CW affiliates. We contracted for the movies and will continue to make Sunday night a movie night. We also talked with the Disney/ABC people and have asked them for a contract for Reaper. We are planning on airing it from 7-8PM on Sunday nights this fall. While we have not received the completed paperwork I don't expect any problem getting Reaper here in Portland. Hopefully many of the 2.5 million loyal fans live in Maine and will enjoy seen new episodes of Reaper! Again, thanks for you note. I appreciate your thoughts and suggestion. Thanks, Doug Doug Finck General Manager WPXT-TV (The CW) 4 Ledgeview Drive Westbrook, ME 04092 207.774.0051 x155 207.774.6849 (fax) www.ourmaine.comThe most important item in this e-mail is the reference to the "Sinclair" broadcast group. Did we know about this one? Also, note his comment that "the only way the station knows what we like is if we contact them". So I'd have to reiterate that we need to keep writing. Write to all of the stations that you can find e-mails for. I've probably written 75 CW affiliates already.
Thanks for the info. I just emailed 2 sites at ourmain.com. It is great that this general manager watches and supports The Reaper. Let's us know that someone is listening.

Quiet day so far today, if you don't include OnTheFlix editing their article The CW Cancels Reaper (shoot that it couldn't have been a *new* article) and Michael Hinman from AlphaAirlock going completely insane. It's quality spazztacity. Please note guys that it's someone's blog and I don't think it's fair to keep feeding the troll, so I'm not gonna put the link up. Lemme just say, never dare criticize Mr. Hinman as he will try and go after you - even if it's a week after you made the original comment on someone else's blog.

RE: emailing SPIKE & SCI-FI. As for mentioning your age, what if you're not in the demographic they care about? Will your email even count as far as they're concerned?

Dear Reaper Fan: We've just learned today (Monday, June 1) from Blogger Nick C. that talks are ongoing for Reaper: "REAPER is still not dead. I’m told by multiple sources that the cast and crew have still to be formally let go from their contracts. The Affiliates have yet to be officially offered the show….Which means SPIKE and SCI-FI still haven’t said “No.” So double or triple your efforts. The tock is clicking." nickctv.wordpress.com/2009/06/01/reaper-still-livesJoin us on our big push to let the studio, and the networks and affiliates know there is an audience for Reaper that will follow the show for a Season Three. Even if you have written already, we're asking that you write again. All information and links here: community.livejournal.com/reaperdmv/49763.htmlThis is our chance! Let's fight for our show!

Whatttttt? Are we getting a confirmation on this one? I'm heading to Twitter to look for Nick C. Or frankly, anyone. I would be careful. I don't mean to sound all negative Nelly, but virtue2 said she got the email yesterday, which means ABC/Disney would have put the letter out at the latest Friday or Saturday. As far as we knew, no decision had been made then, as they still needed fans to flood the cable networks. And if the deal *is* solid, then I would think it would have been announced officially by now. I could be wrong of course, but still, I'd hold on to caution. Cross fingers and keep pelting with letters. Again, virtue - since I'm not sure if you got my pm, you can reach me at reaperdmv@gmail.com.

New from Nick: I'm working on it. I've got my local CW Affiliate Director of Programming telling me that ABC told him the show was sold to cable. I've got someone at Tribune now telling me the same thing. I've read an email on
www.reaperdmv.com
that said the same thing. My friend at SPIKE says it's not them, and that has me trying to get answers from SCI-FI.
