Cady

Ok, I just finished watching Season One and after Cady went to Mexico to see her mum and Sam got with Andi, there wasn't anything to show that Sam and Cady had broken up, not so much as even a phone call, and there hasn't been another appearance of Cady.

Unless I missed something, it just seems like she, like Kyle (Sam's brother) just disappeared from the show, though I reckon Kyle went off to College at some point without the viewer knowing.

Any thoughts?

At least Cady had a modest story arc. When she left she and Sam agreed to take a break so they were sort of free of each other at that point. Then in Acid Queen, Sam promised he would break up with Cady officially before he went ahead with Andi, but then he got interrupted. My guess is we can assume Sam later called Cady and ended it. It was wrapped up enough for me. I was just a little disappointed that they teased us so much with her background and strange occurences and never really explained it.

Kyle is the bigger drop. They really just pretend he never existed, and my guess on that one is that once they began writing the mythology, they couldn't fit in a human and perfectly normal brother.

Oh, riley, don't know if you've seen, but our very own edgyauthor addressed both of these mysteries in her wonderful reapercomics. It's a different take, to be sure.

if reaper gets more seasons im sure thy both will come back.
i wouldnt be suprised if one or both of them wil be back in season three if it gets renewed

They've already said Cady won't be back, and it was more an actor availability issue since Jessica Stroup is now on 90210.

But they *have* said Cady's storyline isn't finished. It is possible that if there's more than an S2 Jessica may be able to show up for an episode or two.

We never did find out one way or the other whether she is devil spawn or not, did we?

I know a lot of things pointed to "not"
- no mark of the beast
- the weird things that happened when she was around probably came from Sam instead of her
- The Devil hinted that she isn't (though you can't trust anything HE says)

But there was no definitive answer in the show yet, isn't that right?

I'm going with no. It's a red herring. No one could be that creepy, not even the producers of Reaper. Even if said producers are on record as desperately wanting Jessica back.

I've always thought the cracking glass was Sam's internal confliction because he really wanted to be with Andi, even as he was making out with Cady.

Jessica gave this quote once:

i think the devil tryed to make Sam think that Cay is the devils spwn but shes not relly, thats why he said no to make it look like she was, but i mean i think it was a double bluff?!?!?!?
the power thing was the devil making it look like it was her
im not sure though but i think that she is not, a personal opinion
i hope she comes back though!!!
i wonder is Andi would get jelouse??

I really am not too invested one way or the other in whether she is devil spawn or not. However, I do have to wonder who else could have fathered her if it wasn't The Devil. Who dares have The Sex with The Devil's woman? And how did he manage not to have his appendage sewn up his ass before he could even come close?
