This was my favourite episode right up until the post hiatus batch. Just watched it again and man it had everything. Every plot and subplot was gold, from Mayes with his peel off tattoos, to the lobster dinner for the employee of the month, to AD Skinner, to Sock and Gladys, to the slapfest with Greg and of course, the get out of hell free card. Loved every scene. I didn't realize this the first time of course but ironic how the episode where Andi and Greg break up is the one where Sam gets that card. Nice piece of foreshadowing though it may have been accidental. Sam has some amazing freakout moments over being set up by the Devil. My favourite scene of them all is the one with Skinner in the interrogation room where Sam starts yelling to the Devil that the joke is over. Great physical comedy in this ep, Bret is amazing as usual with the range of emotions. And who could forget Sock's cry of anguish over being dream-seduced? Funniest scene ever.

I love this episode too. ...from Mayes with his peel off tattoos... This is how dumb I am, it was only last week that I realized Sam's power was tattoos. I was only of the mindset that they were 'giving clues as to Mays' next victim', and not actual clues to Mays himself.

Not much of a power (they did kind of itch a lot) but a cool parallel for sure. Now, if Sam had been able to remove that cardinal and fling it in May's face, then he might have had something.

Oh, Curtis Mays and the unwrapping tattoos was my favorite escaped soul. And AD Skinner! Double-twisting plot.
Oh, I didn't put this together either.
It's actually amazing how much happens in each episode.

"the Cop" is still one of my favorite episodes, even of the post-strike run. Creepy soul who doesn't require much introduction-- the real villain of the episode is revealed in the last-minute twist-- the pyrotechnics-- the gunplay... It's a really solid, thrilling episode. I just thought I'd get my two cents in. Also, it's the first time we see a doomed soul on the way in, instead of trying to get out.

Have to join in on the tattoo-love. One of the best soul powers ever.
Ooh, so true. Now I want to see Skinner as an escaped soul as well, haha. It'd be interesting to see how Sam would deal with that, and what his power would be.

Never occurred to me that Skinner could return. That would be great!
Some quotes from this ep that seem to have more meaning now than before--
Sam: Accepting gifts from the Devil is suicide.
Sock: Why would a demon be into angel figurines? It’s like a cat banging a dog.
And this, because I'm seeing it as a shout out:
Greg: What happened to your hair? Sam: Uh, nothing. Greg: Oh, so that’s on purpose.
