i wanted to put it in the season two section but since its closed for new topics i placed it here.
what i was thinking, thy say that because thy don't know if there is going to be a third season thy are going to answer all our questions in the second season (at least thats what i have readed) like who is Sam's real dad. what about the devil talking to Sam, something thats according to Steve (ep13) not usual for the devil to do. why isn't Sam's dad dead after being buried alive. and probably many more questions. but how much of all those question are thy really going to answer.
some ideas i had:
1: all questions will be answered and no new stuff/questions are created so that if season two is the last one we don't have to use our imagination about how it would end.
2:all questions will be answered and new stuff/questions are created so that when season two is finished thy have something to start whit in the third season if there wont be a third season we have to use our own imagination about the how it would have ended
3:some questions are saved to be answered in the third season and some new stuff/questions is created so that when season two is finished thy have something to start whit in the third season. if there wont be a third season we have to use our own imagination about the how it would have ended
4: all questions will be answered and no new stuff/questions are created and if we get a third season thy start whit new stuff/questions.
what do you guys think?

3:some questions are saved to be answered in the third season and some new stuff/questions is created so that when season two is finished thy have something to start whit in the third season. if there wont be a third season we have to use our own imagination about the how it would have ended With my luck, this is the one that will happen. I really kinda think it's a...uh, can't really remember the name of it...where you get an answer, but that answer only leads to more questions. The writers said last year that they had an idea of where they'd like to go each season, so I think no matter what, that even if they 'answered' everything in by 2x13, there will still be plenty of room to continue the story. TVGuide: Aw man, thought that was the one that mentioned having an idea for each season. I'll have to dig a little more to find whatever OTHER interview it was. The worst part is I now have no idea where that article might be...

I think #4. I can't explain why, though.

So did people pick out the big contradiction put forward in the premier? I'm sure you did:
If Sam is one of many ("thousands") of the Devil's children, why do Tony and the Demon Rebellion believe it's important to kill him?
There's no specific reason for Tony to think Sam's especially dangerous (that we know of) or that the Devil's especially fond of Sam (aside from the demons witnessing Sam talk Gladys's way out of hell), and the Devil says in 2x01 that none of his children have accomplished bringing about the end of the world. So why is Tony so convinced that Sam has to die?

Maybe they've never witnessed the Devil take such an interest in any of his kids before. Maybe they suspect the reason is because the Devil thinks he has finally found "the one." I took the Devil's words to Sam as a clue to this, when he told him in the car that he had no idea of the evil that was going to come his way. I think as Sam gets more relaxed in his role (and Andi gets more concerned about him being a bit too relaxed) and he keeps on the path of doing bad in order to do good, he's going to find himself on this downward slide, and maybe the Devil (and by extension Steve and Tony) already knows it.

Pace haven't they always done that? Sam just admitted it in this episode. They have lied or used false idenities in order to catch souls before. I would compare what they did tonight to a sting operation like when the police set up a fake lottery to catch criminals.

I would compare what they did tonight to a sting operation like when the police set up a fake lottery to catch criminals. Do you mean stealing the beer truck? Yeah, they've done questionable acts before and lord knows they take plenty of stuff from the Work Bench but I've never heard Sam actually use those kinds of words to justify it before. The ends justify the means Sam? Really? It was like crazy kid stuff last season but he still had a moral code and a very clear sense of right and wrong and was the voice of reason among his friends. Now he's starting to rationalize his choices and I see that as a step onto that downward slide. That's how it starts.

I'm with Pace on this-- the way it was dramatically positioned was so that there was no way to miss that Sam was saying those words and saying them seriously (about stealing a beer truck, but still). I'd amend 'crazy kid stuff' to thoughtless kid stuff, in the sense that Sam had never thought about the Right and Wrong of what he was doing before, he was just doing what he had to. Now he is thinking about it, and he's taking a morally gray approach.
I suppose we don't have enough info to keep unspoiled speccing, but for me it's still a big "BUT WHY?" Even if the Devil suspects Sam's the anti-Christ, I can't imagine Tony -- based on how he knows Sam -- honestly believing the same. I'm starting to think that Tony and the other demons thought that killing Sam was the only way to hurt the Devil emotionally (in Tony's case, the only way to get revenge for Steve) which means the other spawn are probably not as common as the Devil claims.
