Unfortunately, we got the lowest rating ever, for a first run episode, at 1,954 million (dropped to 1.8 million in second half hour). So I guess two weeks of No, Josie did its damage. The one positive was that the demo size stayed about the same.

Unfortunately, we got the lowest rating ever, for a first run episode... The biggest problem is that now that we're in April, a traditionally low viewing month anyways, we should expect quite a few more of those. I am REALLY curious to know what the shifted viewing numbers are.

Two things should be pointed out:
1) There were some Neilsen processing issues, which is why Finals have been postponed until tomorrow. So its possible some markets weren't counted(its a long shot, i know).
2)The show didn't air in Chicago until midnight, due to a Celtics/Bulls game. Chicago tends to add 200,000-600,000 to any CW series, so that should be kept in mind.
So yeah, DVR numbers should be very interesting for this eppy...and others. Those should be available this coming Monday/Tuesday.

And everybody else is rearranging their schedules to account for it but the CW. I know they're not airing the address but still.

Finals are out and we added about 80,000 viewers, which I guess is something to be happy about. The 18-49 numbers (0.9) and 18-34 (0.9) were identical. It should be noted that, even with a hefty drop in total viewers (200,000 or so), the demo numbers remained steady week over week.
As for the show being up against Obama's speech this Tuesday, I'd actually suggest that this is good news. Young people, generally, don't watch presidential speeches. And so, hopefully, they'll tune over to the CW, the only network not airing the speech. I'd rather go up against Obama than American Idol, personally.

I was just looking at the numbers, and we are actually doing pretty well. Granted our total viewers are down, but the demo numbers are better than last year (1.11 vs 1.06). And, the total demo audience of 1,147,000 is 25% better than the show they replaced (Privileged at 918,000). And this against American Idle (no ... I spelled it correctly). I hope that the CW is taking this all into consideration.

The first numbers show us at nearly 2.5 million for last night, so hopefully the President picked up some new fans for us. The demo was also up to 1.0.

The unheard of has finally happened-- The CW sent out a press release actually bragging about Reaper's ratings for yesterday's episode! And sure, it's a pretty rinky-dink press release, but it's better than nothing. Check it: EDIT: Oh, you totally beat me to posting this, wdpender! I wasn't paying attention.

That's the ticket! Seems their target demo are not very into politics. So the prez helped us out after all. That's what I call a stimulus package!

Oh, and note that 18-34 females were up 43% over last week!!!! Just what Dawn wants. Probably only a one week increase, but it will be nice to live off of those numbers for the next week. I guess we should be getting the ok for renewal this week, based on those numbers ... well, we can dream, can't we!

Nice! And although they aren't as coveted, the DVR numbers should increase that even more.

Nice! And although they aren't as coveted, the DVR numbers should increase that even more. I'm thinking the DVR numbers for this last episode won't be so high as usual though. I'm betting that the "bump" in ratings is mostly due to regular (not new) viewers who DVR the show, but instead watched it live last night because their usual show wasn't on.

I think you're right, but you'll still get people who normally aren't home Tuesdays or can't sit down at 8:00pm to watch it. I know for me I always watch it later, because I'm still busy with the kids at 8:00 and since it's kind of a PG-13 show, I don't turn it on until they go to bed.

The DVR numbers are out for the season premiere. We were in the top 10 (#9) for percent of DVR viewing. Check it. People watching live plus within a week through DVR was 2.8 million. Not bad.

I hope the CW takes that into account when it makes its decision. I just put a post in the CW thread about this new Vampire Diaries show that just cast Ian Somerhalder (Boone from Lost). I think it would be great paired with Reaper for next year.

Hmmm. Perhaps I've got a bit of a respect problem for my demo (women 18-34) but I'm thinking that the walking Ken doll that is Armie Hammer might have had a tiny bit to do with that jump. I do enjoy looking at him.

At least he's more in line with grabbing the demo the CW wants than Not!Josie is.

DVR numbers are out for Sweet Science. Reaper's live numbers shot up 25.5% (12th) for a grand total of 2.6 million. 18-49 shot up 24.7% (8th). Interestingly, of all the DVRing of Reaper, a third of it was watched same day. 18-49 numbersTotal numbers

Same day DVR watching is actually very good. The sooner people watch what they tape the better for advertisers so they look at those numbers almost as much as live (because a lot of ads are date sensitive). It's after three days that they stop caring. And I'm not suprised, because watching the same day means the show is on too early. That's what I do, tape it at 8pm and watch it after 9pm.
Ironically, this is where the earlier time slot may benefit us in same day viewing. If the show were on any night at 9pm, it would face tough 9pm competition from all the networks (not just AI) and it would limit same day viewing because less people would turn it on to watch after 10pm. At 8pm there's more of a live audience and still plenty of time to see it the same day. Is it possible the CW knew what they were doing?
I honestly think 2.5 million on average are the most viewers we're ever going to get. The question is, is it good enough to keep the show on the air? I'll even take another 13 episode series, I'm used to that now with the BBC so it's not bad. You can tell a good tight story in 13 episodes.

Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb TVByTheNumbers. I couldn't help it, I stirred the pot. I'm sure I'll be attacked for it. But honestly, on what planet would you even THINK Reaper would do better than 90210's PREMIERE, especially since it's once again up against Idol?

Hahaha blue. You're bound and determined to get banned all around, aren't you? And since you're going by "reaperdmv" then I guess we're all getting banned by association. Eh, I don't care. But it was a funny comment.

Reads like someone who's not a fan of the show though, which is a shame since reaperdmv's name is attached to it.
