I had cards! We were playing no-money poker for a case of Fiji Water (hostess's boyfriend reps for them) and I was IN IT TO WIN IT. I goddamn love that over-priced fancy water. (P.S. I lost, because sometimes love just ain't enough.)
Was the Middleman on ABC Family? Because I remember thinking at the time that the show might have had a chance if it had been on literally any other network. ABC Family has a reputation as the most white-bread programming, deserved or not, that makes it so that no one believes anything interesting could be on there. And if they hear about something that might be interesting, they don't know what channel it is, because they have never in their lives wanted to watch ABC Family. Harsh but true.

Reaper has its own page on Spoilerfix now! Yay! They kept Reaper!!!!!! Yeah it was. The truth of the matter is that Reaper fits best on the WB - home of Charmed, Buffy, Angel, etc. But that station no longer exists, at least not on TV. And while I wouldn't mind if Reaper moved to the online site, it'd be a real pain to watch. But to add to this, Reaper *does* get pretty good online viewing numbers.

Ah, pending, I love Fiji water, even though it is now politically incorrect. And on the Middleman thing, I agree that it didn't play so well on ABC Family because on that network they ran it at 10 pm? And it just didn't seem/feel like a 10 pm show.

I hope I'm posting this in the right part of the forum... and this hasn't been around and I'm only just now noticing. Over at ReaperSite I've just posted some Season 2 key art! It's finally coming closer.

It's finally coming closer. Thanks, Craig! Awesome. Eh...Holy friggin' crap. It's awful! It's even worse when you make it big. WTH? The CW is insane. ETA: I do like the "Hell just froze over part" though. Heeee. Oh, and the blood dripping off the logo is pretty cool too. Actually, the whole background is. ETA2: Wait...it premieres at 8pm? Not 9?

Great scoop, Craig, but yeah, agree with Blue on the creative critique.
Seems the more we hear about Season Two, the more confused we get. Earlier is better, I guess, except it means you have to change the Countdown Clock which I JUST REALIZED is set to our time so YAY West Coast! Anyway, someone better confirm the start time.

I thought it was kind of funny. Love the ninja poses! Thanks for the link Craig, nice of you to think of us. I was just wondering, maybe the art is for an ad to run in Variety or some west coast rag, so maybe the 8pm is Pacific time?
ETA: The CW site still says 9/8 central so I'm guessing that's a west coast ad.

ETA: The CW site still says 9/8 central so I'm guessing that's a west coast ad. It'd have to be Central. Mountain and Pacific follow the Eastern schedule. So if it's 9pm Eastern, it's 9pm Mountain and Pacific, and 8pm Central. ... which I JUST REALIZED is set to our time so YAY West Coast! Anyway, someone better confirm the start time. It *should* be set accurate to whatever time zone you have for your personal settings. So you and I have it set for Pacific, but it should also be accurate for pace for Eastern time.

Seems to be that I'm in the minority, but I quite like the promo image. It stands out and, dare I say it, seems to be reaching for a younger audience. I'm not sure what made me come to that conclusion, though. Perhaps it's the stylistic look. Either way, I feel like should I not have heard of the show and randomly saw this ad on a glossy magazine page, I'd be intrigued. I also have the attention span of a Dachshund puppy so...if it's shiny, I'll probably be attracted.

Mention of Steve and Tony at afterElton. Here's the blurb, but there's also a nice pic at the link. And the tvguide.com story on the GLAAD awards has three pics of nominees, and one is Tony! (along with guy from True Blood, and Sean Penn).

I think the action pose is funny, although it looks similar to an older promo and I wouldn't be surprised if it actually is a reused older photo. Sam is even wearing the same red hoodie. Gee, the CW must have saved a bundle that they can now spend on 90210.

It stands out and, dare I say it, seems to be reaching for a younger audience. Snerk. I was thinking of the time I took my 6 year old cousin to his karate class and watched him karate kick all over the place. The pic reminds me of that. But that kinda gets to the heart of my objection: the promo seems more to target a MALE audience, when we all know the CW wants more FEMALES to start watching the show. Besides, Sam's head looks weird. Like it's photoshopped. I think the action pose is funny, although it looks similar to an older promo and I wouldn't be surprised if it actually is a reused older photo. They're even wearing the same shoes. Sucks that the CW didn't have the cast do all new promo shots.

At least they're promoting the show. Whether the pics are reused or not, I can't help but be happy.
Is there any way to make the promo a wallpaper? I'd like to use it on my laptop!

I know one way is to right click it and "save as", then go to your control panel and choose the picture as your background.

I know one way is to right click it and "save as", then go to your control panel and choose the picture as your background. That will work assuming the original picture is big enough, otherwise it will look blurry. But try it.

I'm a big fan of the image (thanks KSite!) just because it's a really neat image. It communicates a lot of the show's tone, looks really well-produced, and has a lot of originality to it. In other words, it's the type of add I'd steal out of the subway if I could, and that tends to help spread buzz. Perhaps more importantly though, it's the kind of thing I'd happily print out and stick up on my door; I always thought the add with the burned paper was okay, but embarrassingly weak. This looks really cool, and that can't be underestimated.

411: This leads into something I have been thinking about for awhile. Most SOS campaigns start at the end of the season as a last-ditch effort. By then, the decision has usually already been made. My idea is to start at the premiere, especially since we have such a short season with only 13 episodes. I was kinda thinking of a weekly email [meaning email the CW every week] thing, kinda like what we did to get the premiere date announced in the first place. Do a push at first to ask people to write in and/or email at the PREMIERE. That's when we're gonna have the biggest audience. Audiences (and fan support) usually wanes after the first episode, only to go back up towards the finale. The finale is too late. Then after the premiere, just do a weekly reminder [in the form of an add-on line or such to the news blog and at the top of our board] to email the CW to keep them reminded that they do have a fanbase, yes it is vocal, and dammit, we want an S3 for Reaper.

Cool idea, blue. A quick survey tells me that most people might be okay with an every-other-week email reminder from us to watch the show and email CW, but every week could get annoying.

I think it would be fine to remind people every week on the news blog, especially when we get the episode trailer etc. Just an extra line on the post.

Reaper 2 is at NY's ComicCon. Audio file. The only real info from the Point (other than of course, that Reaper was there) is that they point out the press release says May 26th is the SEASON finale and not the SERIES finale. In their words, take that as you may.

In my experience, people may find weekly annoying, but intermittent reminders (on one week off the next) are worse than no reminders at all, because people start expecting a reminder and will think nothing's happening weeks they don't get one.
Seconded-- plus I like the idea of re-pointing people towards the trailer. Even if they always end up being red herrings, the trailers are fun, and really do get you curious about the next ep.

We're not really going back to this are we? I mean, I did enjoy it, but the show got better with the increased focus on mythology...

Yeah, but: 1) May be better to hook new viewers or casual viewers who can't keep track (yet) of our beloved story arcs.
2) I bet this is wrong, and the arcs will continue to rise and curve. The whole show is based on it.
