Hooray, a show is premiering that I didn't miss yet! The United States of Tara, on Showtime, Sunday at 10 pm (and 11 pm, and other days/times too, I imagine). From the LJ comm Queer as TV: Stars the wonderful Toni Collette, John Corbett, and Nate Corddry! There's a link at that comm to watch it on-line which I know isn't always available outside the U.S. unfortunately. And still on the BSG roller-coaster; pace, so far I've liked the recaps and discussion at AV Club the best; especially this intro which doesn't spoil, BTW:

Pace, this might be a lot to ask, but would you consider putting this on your Facebook status on Wednesday as a reminder? Not if you have some other fabulous status-thing happening, of course...

I would love to watch Life on Mars Pace. However, it airs at the same time as one of my favorite shows CSI NY I love Gary Sinise. It drives me nuts when the networks put two shows that I want to see at the same time. I wish the CW had left Reaper on Thursday night instead of putting it on opposite American Idol.

No problem at all. In my opinion, that's all my Facebook status is really good for. Oh, and my bad, I meant January 28th. It returns next week, not this Wednesday. That's why God gave us DVRs. And if it's not a gift from God I don't know what is.

I wish the CW had left Reaper on Thursday night instead of putting it on opposite American Idol. We might get a little lucky there. It's looking to begin with that we'll be up against Fringe. AI won't go to its longer schedule until later, and I think in March will only be from 8-9.

I like the odds of that match-up; I can see people flipping over to Reaper during Fringe commercial breaks/boring stretches.

Afterthought: Why in the world is 'Fringe' paired with 'American Idol' of all things?

Two clips from February 2nd's episode of Chuck featuring everyone's favourite bloody rock god, Dominic Monaghan. Make sure to watch.

I'm so excited for that episode of Chuck.
The new season of Big Love started on Sunday and the first episode was great. I thought that last season was a little uneven, so I was quite pleasantly surprised.
I've also been watching Nip/Tuck, it's my guilty pleasure show. I know that it's terrible and cheesy, but I absolutely love it.

beatrix, thanks for reminding me about Big Love, I keep meaning to watch that. I really enjoyed The United States of Tara--it was funny and intriguing. I get that some people think it's not an accurate portrayal of dissociative personality disorder, or that her family isn't realistic in their acceptance of her "alters," (and some people really dislike Diablo Cody, I guess) but I'd recommend checking it out. It's on Showtiime, but also online; link in my post above.
Darn, Chuck. My Monday class starts next week.

Y'know, sometimes South Park isn't nearly as clever as they like to think they are.

The Office and 30 Rock. These seem to be the only shows I make a point to watch.
Tracy Morgan: "Diabetes? That's a white myth! Like Larry Bird and Colorado."

I'm thinking we should have a thread for "places where Reaper should be mentioned but isn't." New York ComicCon, Feb 6-8, has panels for Dollhouse, Fringe, Life on Mars, and CHUCK but of course no Reaper. However, stuff does get added at the last minute. I'm keeping an eye out, since some of the same panels might come to WonderCon in SF later in February.

Oh Reaper so should have a panel. OTOH, a Life on Mars panel at ComicCon is good news for that bubble show.

It most likely won't be there next year, even if the show is picked up. Usually panels are for premiering shows and/or ratings winners - like Fringe, Heroes, etc.

Guaranteed full-seating factor that comes from the killer convention combo of a) Jayne and b) Hot Blonde Chick. And once they have those seats full of nerds and nerdettes who have come to ogle, they get to pretend that nerd-comedy Chuck is a hit with the nerds because it speaks to them, or some crap like that. That is my incredibly judgmental explanation anyway.
I was mainly here though because of a repressed memory that surfaced unexpectedly, and I remembered that episode of the new Knight Rider series I watched; the one where there's a computer virus that can travel through metal and also when it eats metal it emits acid and they have to stop it before it gets to the internet and it was literally the stupidest thing I ever watched. You guys, don't watch the new Knight Rider series.

Love Jayne. Hate the guy Adam Baldwin plays on Chuck. Doesn't carry over for me.

I just think the character is too flat. Jayne was colourful.

He's not as much fun as Jayne, but it's still a pretty good role. I think I read somewhere that they expanded his character over time...and he has one of my fave line deliveries ever, when he's undercover at the Store and Chuck is explaining the little hand-held price-tagger thing. Chuck: Be careful, it's an expensive piece of equipment. Whatever his character's name is: Yeah, so's a Stealth Bomber but I managed to fly one of those. Again, it's all in the delivery. But, the main thing I'm watching now "thanks" to stinger: Rob & Big, a candid reality show about a pro skateboarder and his bodyguard. I'm hooked on it like I was The Osbournes and that one about the guys who build motorcycles. I'm totally into their lives right now, and a silly silly life it is. Plus a lot of it is set in their house in the Hollywood Hills, and I recognize the neighborhood from when my ex lived near there. Quite hilarious.

Blue that astronomer dude you linked on The Daily Show was so sweet and hilarious. So, and. Battlestar Galactica. This isn't the place to go on and on about that, but...Starbuck and Lee, kicking butt; Badass Adama Rebel Posse; Wrath of Roslin; and Galen Tyrol with his bare hands! Gaius Baltar, Road to Redemption? Kudos to Richard Hatch for being willing to be in the remake as that character. And, Felix Gaeta. Whew, story arc. It's good television, people.

once and always, I am a BSG TOS fan. The new one just doesn't to it for me. Despite being a superb remake, and I own the first two seasons, it's just not as fun as the old space romps. Politics are boring. I prefer fun adventures. So sue me. That all said, new Starbuck is awesome! Apart from Reaper, I'm mostly obsessed with Supernatural. It's the car. It's sooooo the car. This week's episode was a bit non-eventful though... amusing in parts... but nothing exciting.

I still haven't written, or should I say completed, any BSG fic. It's all moving so fast, it's like trying to jump on a speeding train. While writing. And hypercaz, this is quite a debate. Actually both things you mention are debates!
